The Painting: The buyer loved In the Heat of the Night... so I took it a bit further with more paint but the same concept of many many layers... first acrylic and then the oil layering. Each piece stands on its own for beauty and energy and that is praise to Him and the Holy Spirit that moves in me and to the canvas.

The Thought:  I heard from a reader yesterday that my message on Father's Day touched her heart.  If my writing does that to just one reader, than God is working.  I found out over 110,000 new visitors have been to my blog.  That is huge to my brain that the concept of the internet even works...nonetheless reaching so many folks I do not even know. Thank you for writing.

Choosing the right path has tugged at my heart the past two days.  I have written many times about our choices are usually not His choices and we take off in our own direction most of the time, ignoring what God might have ready for us.  Psalm One is quick to remind us to choose the right path in life.

How do we know what is right? Looking around us and listening to the news media, so many upper trusted company officials have not chosen wisely. They took a path that led them to gaining in wealth while others lost their money.  We are retired from American Airlines, but we knew that all the management were getting huge bonuses while our pay was cut, our vacations were cut and our benefits were cut...but theirs were not. They received more of everything.  Look at the banking industry and the stock market industry and how many men literally bilked money out of innocent investors?

What is the right path in our day and time in this nation?  What is important? Is it the business, the money making, the prestige, the charisma etc or is it the substance, the virtue, the character or the achievement of man?   What were our original roots in the founding of our nation? Simplicity and thriftiness took my grandparents through the depression. They sure didn't have credit cards. Honesty and integrity meant something then. Good ethics meant good business. What happened to the caring integrity of people?  Taking care of each other and helping each other.

How many people does it take for you to step on to get to where you have chosen to go on your path? Are you a user and an abuser or a giver and a server? Do you throw stick and stones along the way?

The path to prosperity (and I don't mean money) and happiness is pretty simple.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  How you treat others is how you will be treated.

Choose your path, but remember that golden rule or you will be traveling a path exposed without your integrity and your virtue.

May God lead you in your quest...remember He is watching everything you do and knows everything you say before you even utter the words. He knows your heart and who you are.

Psalm 1
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.   He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish."

Laurie,

Oh my word, we are kindred spirits! I was reading this post and I wrote something similar a year or two ago. However, yours is much more articulate and spiritual. lol! Your paintings are beautiful, and your subject matter is perfect (I had a horse when I was in high school and miss her very much!)

I will definitely be following you and your work. I'm in Texas now, too. In Burleson. It is God's country, no doubt! I'm so glad to meet you!

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
