The Painting: Another wild child dimensionally coming off the canvas. Terry laughs when I do these as I patiently build layers and layers of paint.

The Thought: Yes, I used the Pace Dumpster yesterday...twice. Should have used it more!
We went into town late yesterday for the 100 year celebration and saw one of those fabulous gun fights by the TEXAS PISTOLAROS. They start out by teaching Gun Safety and they were swearing in their deputies that were assigned the job to keep the people watching the show in line.
Awesome....just like being in Jackson Hole at 5:30 pm when every night in the summer there is a showdown at sunset. I took some great shots last night in Mt Vernon that probably will become paintings.
Makes me wonder how God does it with out Deputies to keep us all in line. If you were given that commitment, how would you handle it?
Today we are having a retirement party for Terry. Many of his cousins are driving out and all our kids are coming too, including Tink. We are about 90 minutes outside of Dallas going east. For Tink it will be 2 full hours. I spent last night preparing a wonderful chicken salad, pea salad, corn salad, melon ball salad etc etc with the help of Leah. This morning we will have the brisket done and will slice it up and it will be ready before the troops arrive.
Jan wrote about this oak tree in her blog after the trip. It is dead... probably from the years of drought we have had in Texas and it just didn't make it.
Not a long blog this morning as I have much to do before the family begins to arrive. This covered more personal catch up for friends and family.

Finally unloaded my camera from when Jan and Arlo came to visit.
Terry, me, Jan and Arlo.
