The Thought: Chaos, what is the definition in your mind?
Wikipedia says, "Chaos (derived from the Ancient Greek Χάος, Chaos) typically means a state lacking order or predictability. In ancient Greece, it meant the initial state of the universe, and, by extension, space, darkness, or an abyss[1] (the antithetical concept was cosmos). In modern English, it is used in classical studies with this original meaning; in mathematics and science to refer to a very specific kind of unpredictability; and informally to mean a state of confusion.[2] In popular culture, the word can occur with all three meanings."
It was brought to my attention if you have a messy room, or a messy house, or a messy closet that reflects the word CHAOS, that it is indeed a reflection of the inner you. Most likely you are highly intelligent and very controlling about everything else in your life. Chaos is the simple lack of organization. Despite what our youngest daughter thought about it meaning idiot behavior, it has nothing to do with that. It is lack of being "together".
Let's look at God and chaos. If you read in Genesis about the creation, you know that God created everything piece by piece and also with peace. Everything has its place and time to be. He took what was chaos and made it into organized life. When God is present there cannot be chaos. Where one is, the other cannot be. You are not 'together' with God if you have chaos.
Through out the bible there are stories of chaos and then results of organization and peace. Think about those folks that drowned with the flood while Noah floated on his boat. The survivors began again in a peaceful beginning or restart. What happened to the slaves in Exodus? The Hebrew families faced much stress and had no control over the things happening in their lives. God took them to safety to Sinai. There He taught them how to live and treat each other and respect His laws. He established order.
So look at your life. If there is chaos right now, God is not there. You need to bring Him into your life and your family life. It is not suppose to be hard. You need to lay aside the old self which is broadly influenced by the world of wants and turn back to the simple needs of life.
Put on your new self today in the likeness of God and let go of the chaos in your life. Simplify.

"But if you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have head Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth." Ephesians 4:20-24.
