The Painting: An oldie that I found in the file from my realism days! An man on the east Coast, James Whistler, sent me a CD with all his orchids on it and I painted orchids quite often.

The Thought: Wish I was not in a hurry, but Crystal has three tests today and I am the only parent home to review again this morning before I take her up for tutorials early!

My thought to share would be to be tuned into your day today. Be aware of what is around you. Find joy in the moment and keep a mental list of all the good things that happen. If you have time, write that list down. That would be a good thing to reflect back on when your day goes a different direction and you are stressed. Figure out what you can substitute for stress today and make a new habit. Let the new habit replace the old habit.

ALL of us need to make a new habit. Bring in the best of what you have and figure out what you can change for the positive.

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint. This is how I felt. It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins. She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.
