The Painting: Thick Holbein Duo Oils in this bright smiling peony painting. It grew as it expanded on the canvas. Several days of layer and reworking and this "happy" piece was done.
The Thought: Morgan is in the process of moving out to his new place in Lewisville. My list... well I did two things on it yesterday and did all the floors in the house and some wash. Not sure what I will do today, but the list is still there should I get bored or lifeless and need direction. I almost volunteered to drive one of the filled trucks to his new home, but I thought twice and stayed here instead to work. I am behind about a month on bookwork.
We are missing seeing the baby. Tink is going to be grown in a blink. I think we might get her in about a week. Everyone is off on Monday for holiday and I am hoping we are going sailing weather permitting.
Permission is an interesting word. Authorization to do something or formal consent. That is the definition in the dictionary. (Do kids even use those now days? Remember having dictionary tests and putting things in alphabetical order? What do they do now? Sort by alphabet? I think that is a computer command.)
As we become adults in the world we often just take it upon ourselves to think we have freedom once we are on our own and 21 and self supporting. No longer do we have to get permission from anyone to do things. At the spur of the moment we can do whatever we please.
Maybe that is one of the missed steps in our lives. As adults we need to stop and think about "permission". This may be the time to stop and pray and seek His permission or approval of what we have in mind. Seek the Lord; seek permission; seek His blessing; seek His grace.
"Father May I?"
Laurie
“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.T” Matthew 28: 18-20
