The Painting: This is an older piece from 2005. This usually means I am behind in the studio. Western Art Collector contacted me for participation in the wildlife issue coming up in September and my life went upside down. Diane Whitehead and I are doing an ad together in this upcoming edition as well as contributing to the editorial on wildlife art.

The Thought: Do you ever feel unappreciated? I know I do. I was talking to another mom yesterday who was having difficulties getting a teenage son to mow the yard. Of course it is his contribution to the family but for some reason he felt she should do it herself. We have all been there at one time or the other. It seems no matter how hard we work it never gets done.

Each day we all face unique pressures in our life. No one can truly appreciate what burdens we carry with our expectations we place on ourselves. I worked yesterday from 5:30 in the morning until nine last night. I was only out of the studio for about 30 min when I ran to the store for a few groceries. My husband looked at me and said, "Why?" Of course I had answers.

Why do we pressure ourselves so much? And attached with that comes the feeling of not being appreciated. At this moment only God truly knows your heart and your mind. He can see your current circumstances from an overall view and knows what will be next in your life. He recognizes your emotional needs as you feel spent from all you push yourself to do. He knows you better than you know yourself as He is the one that created you. Lean on Him today to take over some of the burden you face. Then lighten up on yourself. Give up at least one of those things today and take 30 minutes for yourself.

Take heart and trust Him to help.

Thanks Laurie for your words of wisdom about putting pressure on ourselves and not being appreciated. It is nice to know others feel that way, too. Your reminder that only God is in control hit home with me today.
"Take heart and trust Him to help", A very good thought for the day.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
