A PAINTING A DAY: This was painted a few years ago as a commission painting. I have not had time to take pictures of my work from the weekend yet, so I pulled from my archives.

My Thought for the Day:

There is a song from Vacation Bible School from many summers ago, when my grandson was only 5. I led the music for bible school and the theme song was "I AM A PROMISE". The words have never left my brain and my grandson is almost 12 now.

I think it went like this:
"I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be.

I can go anywhere that He wants me to go
I can be anything He wants me to be
I can climb the high mountains
I can cross the wide sea
I'm a great big promise you see!

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I'm a promise to be anything God wants me to be
Anything God wants me to be!"

I think so often in our lives we limit ourselves. He wants each of us to shine with the gifts He has graced on us. We have mentors in our lives that help us begin journeys, but it is up to us to find our path and experience our growth in our life in our own way.

Yes, you are a promise and a possibility...a great big bundle of potentiality.... celebrate life today and who you are, just as He made you as you go forth to your possibilities!

Arrival...Refrigerator?

Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
