"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another." John 1:16
“When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.” Acts 11:23A Painting A Day: Pop Art a favorite for many of the younger generation and me too!
I love the simplicity of blocked color and form and the intensity of the subject matter defined so clearly. Pop Art is a movement that began in the mid fifties in the UK and by the late fifties, it was here in the states. Pop Art takes an object and isolates it from a complex composition into a simple composition. It shares many of the same qualities as Minimalism; both are stand alone attitudes in their creation. This was painted for a dear friend in the D.C. area and it hangs lovingly in her home... she has the attitude that you see in the painting. Of course that is totally up to your personal interpretation.
*** Exciting news as I was just accepted and judged in as an associate member of WAOW!***
My thoughts for the day:
Have you ever been in a parking lot in your car and watched a basket careen into another car? We had just pulled up at the grocery store last night and Terry did not even have the car off, when I said, "OH MY" and I jumped from our truck and ran forward to the next aisle to try and reach a shopping cart rolling downhill at a frantic rate straight toward a new pick up truck. In my old age I had to be crazy, but as Terry says, "that's the type person you are and I would not change you." I threw myself between the cart and the bumper just as the impact hit. God was with me in my sprint, but I had no thought of self injury as my thoughts were to stop the runaway basket. I am always disappointed when folks do not return carts to a safe place.
His Grace kept me safe. The owner of the truck will never know. I can only hope someone would do that for me one day. Grace for the moment... give it whenever you can.
What does the Grace of God mean to you? What is His grace? I always think of the gifts we enjoy that He provides and gives us daily... no charge of course and no strings attached. Our first grace is our gift of life. What are you doing with yours? Another would be the earth around us.. His creation. What are you doing with that?
His grace abounds around us despite our journey to head off on our own and ignore what is there for us. This is why we are so good at sinning... it is part of our nature to turn aside from His grace. When we do not chose to follow Him and seek His grace, we end up on paths that become blind alleys that lead to nowhere. Have you been there? I have and I don't like it.
Grace can come in many other forms like healing and health, or direction or even unconditional love. Open your hands and reach up to Him and receive His grace this morning. His love is unconditional as is His grace.

Sometime we return our car nd it is sitting there with not a scratch on it...do you ever wonder if perchance someone did stop a runawa cart while you were browsing the aisles? I think we need to give thanks not for the good things that we know we were the receipient of but for the good things that are...without our knowing - we are constantly protected and good things are happening...we only see what we see but there is a lot of wonderful stuff happening while our eyes are averted.
