"Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth." Psalm 100:1
POST NOTE: I wanted to share that this is the end of the first week of the existence of Daily Painters of Texas. This group was inspired by of course the Daily Painters. Micah Condon who created Daily Painters had a vision of gathering dedicated artists together in common goals to work together helping each other forward in their art. Scaling back to the state level, it was obvious after Jamie Williams Grossman put together a show for the daily painters in her area, and they had such a wonderful time with the association, several of us here in Texas decided to do the same thing. Vernita Bridges-Hoyt, Kay Wyne and I became the initiators. Together we built the blog, gathered a small group of artists statewide and are already planning our first group show this fall. If you have time, stop by and visit our new blog and see some of the finest art in Texas. I have a post note at the bottom of this post... please take a moment and read it.
"Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth." Psalm 100:1
Do you have a pair of old slippers? What about a favorite coffee cup? There are things we have that bring us great comfort even in their simplicity. Those 'things' are a sign to us of contentment and when in use we feel contented and safe.
In comparison... what is joy? Those slippers are definitely contentment, a sign you have arrived home safe from the world, or warmth on a cold morning etc. But Joy, are those slippers joy to you?
Pure joy exceeds the contentment of knowing everything is going reasonable well. As you and I both know, in a split second your world can be upside down. Joy has to be found in the moment and it comes directly from Him. Joy is in us at all times, we have to be open to feel it; not clouded with issues and thoughts of the day. Joy is found in the pure silence when you are one with God. Joy is in the beauty of the earth He created for us. Joy is the warmth of sun, the freshness of a rain shower, the laughter of a child, the smile of your mother, or in the hands of your father.
Truly Joy is the spirit of God inside of you. This joy can be drawn upon in any situation. Exuberant Joy....open your heart and feel it today.

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song." Psalm 28:7
