"People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Luke 18: 15-17
God gives us life and we in turn must give our lives back to God. The energy of His love is the essence of life. God is in each of us and our lives are an expression of Him.Today is Lauren's christening. Tomorrow I will have pictures of course! She will be christened by a minister our family dearly loves. He married Stacey and Larry; he and his wife, who is also a minister, prayed and stayed with the family through Grant's death (Grant died two years ago at age 11.); and now he will christen Lauren, their daughter. Pastor Keith is one of kind in your life time and we are blessed with his touch in our lives.
Dedicating a child to the Lord is a spiritual journey as it begins. Her god-mothers are two of Stacey's oldest and dearest friends. She will wear the handmade christening gown that my mother made, her great grandmother. It was worn by all three of my children and both of my brother's children. The names of every child christened in this dress are embroidered on the slip with the date of the christening. There is a beautiful slip, gown, jacket and hat. Each piece is hand beaded and trimmed with fine lace.
This is Justin, my eldest son, and the oldest grandson... who wore the dress first in 1975. I have pictures of the others, but I could not put my hands on them this early in the morning. My Mom is holding him and my dad is looking at him with a happy grin.

How are you living your life?
