Close ups:

My mind is back on Mary and Joseph on their long trip into Bethlehem of Judeah. I am certain we could attach the word "weary" to the journey. I am hoping they were not hungry as well, and most certainly hoping they were not attacked by bandits along the way. The journey is not detailed in any of the gospels.

Our daily journey is very real to each of us, often painful and confusing and for some, it is rarely filled with joy. God provides everything we need for our journey, why do we not use what He has for us? Paul tells us in the Bible that we are citizens of heaven. We belong. Right now we are simply sojourners in a world filled with danger. When God sent us here He equipped us with the tools we needed to survive. Our provisions vary with each of us and some of us ignore what we have been given. Why do we allow ourselves to fall prey to life each day? Why do we not arm ourselves with His Word and trust in Him?

I know many of you own bibles. Are they on the shelf for impressive looks, or do you use yours DAILY? The oldest personal bible I have that was a gift from my Aunt and Uncle in St Louis. I have used it to the point that if I open it much more it will have to be rebound. I used it exclusively until 15 years ago when Terry and I bought a bible we share with large type and extra room to write all over the pages. When I read I make notations. I always date the area I am studying as well. Some areas have 5 or 6 dates on them and many notes. My bibles are used as road maps and guides, and wisdom and study. Also tucked within the pages and covers are a select few letters from people that love me, that wrote in times I reached out to them. I honor their thoughts and keep them close at hand in my bible. Many of them are deceased but their thoughts ever close to redirect me when I am lost. (The New Testament is full of letters written for you. Pick one out today and read it. One of my favorites is James.)

When you go on a trip you use your navigation system or maps. This life journey is not different. He is your GPS. God's Protective Services. The Bible is your map filled with specific information needed for anything that could happen along the way. You need it to complete this life.

It is inventory time. Make a list if you need to. You should not be weary any longer, don't put it off. Use the knowledge you have and seek His wisdom. You are filled with the Holy Spirit. It is time to acknowledge this and give Him room to work in your life. Give it all up, you will receive back a hundred times what you gave up. The nourishment He has for you will fill every hunger and satisfy every need.

Here is my old friend:

Simple Joy and Abundance,

Laurie

"Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." Philippians 3:17-20

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
