Saturday morning finds me itching to paint so bad I almost did not blog. Music playing right now is:

Arietta con Variazioni 5:29 Kelly Yost Kelly Yost - Piano Reflections: A Gentle Selection of Reflective Light Classics Classical

This is some of my favorite music to paint by... classical piano.

Survival. That seems to be a key word in today's world with the economy tanking. With all the negativity in the news and the job layoffs, rising grocery prices, housing prices dropping...it has to have an impact on everyone somewhere in their life. An African proverb talks of gazelles and when they awake in the morning they know they must always be ready to outrun the fastest lions or they will be eaten. AND every lion when it wakes up knows it has to outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. So it doesn't matter if ou are the gazelle or the lion, you hit it running the moment you wake up. Running is a top priority to both species. It is the difference between life and death.

If you want change in your life ( and I am not speaking financial change or immediate physical change) prayer must have this same priority in our lives as running did for the gazelle and lion.
God has given us a significant way to commune with him, and from that we grow and effectively live and can overcome and endure what ever is to be. Unfortunately with most of us prayer has become commonplace and quite optional. There might be graced uttered when company sits to eat with us, or a quick prayer in desperation when things are going really bad in a crisis moment.
OR wait, better yet, when we need something.

The enemy is time and ourselves. We all say, "I just don't have time." Do you watch TV during the day? If you can do that you can spend time in His word and in prayer. I cannot even begin to tell you how much this will change your life. Some one might respond, "That makes prayer a chore that you have to do and not something spontaneous from the heart." Okay, you are right, but you have to start somewhere. Make prayer a priority. Aristotle said," We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."

To have Prayer that changes everything, prayer must be before everything.

Joy and abundance,

Laurie

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:5-6 (A favorite from my Aunt Bonnie)

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
