A Painting a Day

Painting day! Yes, I will be working on some Arabians today and some Appaloosas as well. Have some images I need to get roughed out on canvas.

When thinking and praying this morning about thoughts to share I was remembering the parable where the owner of a vineyard needed workers to pick the grapes. He hired workers early in the morning, late morning, noon and mid afternoon. Even at the dinner hour he was still hiring workers just before quitting time at Six. It didn't matter what time of day the owner hired the worker, he gave the same pay to each of them. Think about those pros and cons. If I was the 8 am hire on worker and I put in 10 hours and I found out you were hired in at five in the afternoon and only worked one hour and we go the same pay.. yeah I think I would be a bit upset. That is how our society seems to work on a whole. Everyone out for their own survival.

God seeks us out full time. He seeks out the good, the bad and the ugly. He doesn't even stop at six in the evening. Our time is limited here on earth but God is here always and makes it easy for folks to find him. Remember playing hide and seek with your kids and you would make it easy for them to find you? God does not just want the 8 am workers that are the do it right and put in a full life of work for the Lord people...he seeks out the sinful ones. He offers to them his love and forgiveness if they ask. So many of us have messed up our lives and truly have little to be proud of. The Lord shows us great mercy and as I wrote about yesterday, helps us find a way out of our mess through Him.

No matter when you come into the faith, early in life or late in life, the "Payment" or "reward" will be the same for each of us. God does not reward people with heaven for their acts of good here on earth. It is through our faith alone in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Grace,
Laurie

“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. .”Isaiah 55:6-9

You keep impressing me with new and interesting ways to show us your beautiful horses. I did love your rich one with all that paint knifed on but still I think this one with only those few lines is my favourite.

You blog is a very spiritual one. It is easy to see that you never feel alone. I am happy to read that it gives you such comfort in life.

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
