As an artist sometimes I can get really frustrated. Every artist wants to paint that WOW picture that signals achievement, growth and reward; to find they have arrived. My frustration is not painting that picture but on occasion refocusing my moment to be exactly that, IN THE MOMENT. Painting is an exploration of color, design, balance, composition form, shape etc. so it is a new adventure with every canvas. There are days you do not want to paint. There are days that you have so much to do around they house and you want to paint.

Each day the importance right now is to focus on Him first. I take the time to center myself before starting my day in the studio. Often doing this blog will begin this process. Dreams and goals are good for everyone. We would lose hope with out dreams and goals and life would be endless pain with out them. The point I am making is not to wait every day for that one thing to happen to make life perfect. I cannot wait for that one perfect painting.... you cannot wait for that one thing that will make you happier. More money will not do it; owning your own home will not do it; starting a new job will not do it; the arrival of the weekend will not do it.

Live today and enjoy this day. Someone once said, "What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it."

What would Jesus say to you if you sat down face to face for a conversation about this day before you start it? Imagine for the moment as he grasps your hand, tilts his head slightly and locks his deep brown eyes into your eyes and with a small kind smile he asks," Are you ready for the journey today? What can I help with?" He might even whisper something and if you are not blathering away, you might hear it if you spend time just listening. " 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Mark 9:23

Grace,
Laurie

"This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God. Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes." Luke 12:21-23

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
