This is me at the Bluff home, relaxed and enjoying 68 degree weather.

This is Mom on the Deck outside the Bluff House over looking Lake Keuka, one of the Finger Lakes in Upper State NY
This is the view from our Lake House on the Bluff of Keuka Lake. The home is
three stories and Lake view and surrounded by gardens. It is probably five acres of gorgeous gardens on the bluff overlooking the lake.

This is Terry with the Red Anniversary Corvettes outside McGregor Winery.
Wishful thinking.

I am on borrowed internet this morning and told Stacey I would blog. Our trip has been incredible in so many ways. The weather is unbelievable here.... cool nights in the low fifties and days in the mid seventies. No rain yet, but Morgan (who is staying at our house) said it has been raining. He reports both dogs are doing well and are spoiled. I just hope he is not allowing them to sleep in our beds!

Yesterday morning I was up early and gazed out the window next to the bed to watch the moon set over the lake. The sun was coming up on the other side. The Bluff juts out into the lake and with this house on the end of the bluff, you literally watch the moon set as the sun rises across opposites sides of the lake. It was so deeply moving I cannot even put words to it.

We drove down to Lake Juanita to where Billie Bauman lives and spent yesterday on the lake. We went out on a large barge with every one and took a spin around for a few hours. Then Terry took a jaunt on Billie's jetski and came back and took me out. It was getting cool as the spray hit my arms and legs, but it was fun.

We are back here to day to try out the canoe, the kayak and maybe the paddle boat for mom and me! I would like to fish, but not sure I will get to.

I leave you in His grace and miss writing every morning. It is almost lunch time here and we are heading back down to the lake.

Today accept the blessing of wisdom from the Lord. If you find yourself stumbling, lost or confused, center yourself and say a prayer. The Lord will light your way. Share this light with others and let your wisdom show them the path. Be assured He lights the path you should travel and trust in Him.

Be Confident!

Grace,
Laurie

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. EXHAUSTED Woman Figurative Oil Painting, Art Deco Painting, Art Abstract Painting, Women in Kitchen Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

Sleeping Cowboy . Ernest Hemingway . Sunday, a day of rest . Western Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
