We completed our Medications class and only have one more class to renew for our Foster License. We saw some of the couples last night that were in our classes a year ago, also renewing their license with updating classes. She had given birth to a baby 8 months ago and had her little one with her. I am thinking they had three other children at home and they are doing fostering. She laughed and said they were licensed 5 weeks ago and they were called with in hours to take a brand new infant from the hospital. SO she has a new baby at home along with her four! THAT is not what we will do! We will offer respite care to foster homes that need it as well as foster adopt a teenager. God is in control on this one and you better believe Terry and I are walking on the water with Jesus with this one! There are moments of pure panic, WHAT ARE WE DOING??? Then the calm fills us.

Reminds me of the story in the bible where Jesus was alone after the crowds has been dismissed and he sent the disciples across the sea in the boat. There was a storm and the boat was battered by winds and rain. In the morning Jesus went walking to them on the sea. Sort of scared the wits out of the disciples. Peter was brave. "Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water". Jesus said , "COME". So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. Suddenly a strong wind caught him and he broke the moment crying out in fear as he began to sink. "Lord save me" Jesus calmly reached out his hand and caught him saying, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"

Need I say more? I have no knowledge what burdens you or what you hesitate to do in life when you are afraid to take the chance...please know that growth cannot come with out change. Change is never good or bad, it is only change. It is how you perceive it and react to that determines what it is. Change is growth. Do not fight it in your life. Recognize it and embrace it. HAVE FAITH, Know that the Lord has a plan for you and for the rest of your life. Believe.

Grace,
Laurie

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Isaiah 43:1-3

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

Sleeping Cowboy . Ernest Hemingway . Sunday, a day of rest . Western Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
