Palm Sunday morning dawns before me as I blog this morning. It was a gorgeous day yesterday and I believe it will be one today as well. Terry and I walked the dogs two miles yesterday enjoying the gorgeous spring afternoon with temps around seventy and total beautiful sun with blue skies. I was worn out from painting for 10 hours by the time Terry got home from the airport at three thirty. We ran dinner up to Mom and Dad and then came back. My feet hurt so bad from painting and standing all morning, but I slipped out of my clogs and into my running shoes. We leashed the dogs and took off on our walk. We zigzagged the neighborhood avoiding the HUGE hills, only taking the mini huge hills. As we walked zigzagging it was obvious a runner was doing the same thing only at a faster pace and the opposite direction. We passed each other four times!
It was a wonderful walk and we slid into home to have rice pilaf mixed with lentils and black eyed peas, homemade cornbread and a huge salad. (I have lost 6 pounds and intend to stay going down instead of up!)
Did you ever think about how much you zigzag in life every day? Am I the only one? My brain goes about 100 mph and I zigzag between things I need to get done. I am often worried I will forget to finish something. As in our walk, I can't help but wonder what you miss in life when you zigzag around and are not really aware of who and what you are passing during this time. Awareness I think is the word I am looking for. Be aware in life today of those people and places around you that God has placed in your life. They are not there by accident. This is all part of his plan. Do your part and be Aware.
Be aware of all the gifts He has placed before you today. Mediate and look at your hands this morning. Concentrate on them. It is a wonder how they work and how strong they are. We really take them for granted. Hopefully you wash them often, but do you ever stop and think about all they do during the day? Be conscious of your hands today and all they do. As you look at them, observe both sides and massage each finger. You can feel your hands heat up immediately with energy gathering and warmth spreading. If you are able to pray at the same time and tell God how grateful you truly are for not just the hands He has given you, but for His Hands that hold you so close in His love.
Take this warmth and energy that you are now aware of, and put your hands to good use today.
Grace,
Laurie
"Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and the name of his son? Tell me if you know!" Proverbs 30:4
