I began a moonlight series yesterday very taken by the gray violet paint I had in my chest. I started a second one to finish today. It spoke to my heart of mystery and things in the dark that we cannot see, of unexpected pleasures and hidden pain. Our path can only be lit by the moonlight.
We all travel into the night in our experiences pulled by others into the dark and it is up to us to bring the ray of light of the Lord with us. In our lives every day we have endless opportunity to bring light and love into the lives of those around us. I have a friend that lives very far from me and she is like a sister. Her wisdom is accountable and reliable; her love is unmistakable. She brings light into my life daily. Can you carry some light to someone today?
This morning I have a "blind date". I use that term loosely. I have a woman from the neighborhood coming to paint. We have spoken on the phone and shared emails and she is coming to paint with me. It is literally like a blind date, both of us anticipating meeting in person and seeing if we "Click" as friends and as artists. I prayed about this and know what will be the Lord will provide and I go forth in joyful hope this morning that it will be a productive time for both of us. Every relationship that forms in our lives creates a take/give situation. I eagerly await her arrival this morning to share some time at the easel.
Light and Grace,
Laurie
"If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." Psalm 139:11-13
