List is not totally made, but I have been reflecting on it! I know the Lord is putting up caution signs and detours, but I remain in a fog trying to figure out the way. I love it when hubby says, "you are doing it wrong, can't you see that?" But when I ask him to help me understand what it is he sees so clearly he can't answer me. I am not sure he knows, but he is ever so helpful to try and make sure I know I am doing it wrong.
If I started my list at the top would probably be self control. When it comes to my eating habits that seems to be lost for sure. To have more self control would be first. Maybe then I can loose part of the twenty pounds I gained over the past four years. Second, hummm, probably flexibility...to have flexibility to situations that I have no control over! Makes sense doesn't it? I have learned this past six months I can't get Terry to do anything, even if it needs to be done. I can only expect he will do exactly the opposite of what needs to be done. Eventually he will get to the project. Much easier to wait six months that to get into a tussle with him. We have been in the house for four weeks. There is still a pane of glass missing from the back door. I may be clueless on my direction, but that would have been a priority with me for both safety and temperature control. He did finally get the water filter hooked up under the sink, but then the dishwasher stopped working. After three days of no clean dishes o glasses to use, he grumblingly got back under the sink and started turning knobs. Presto, I have clean dishes again. The dishwasher is working. Amazing isn't it? I didn't have to say a thing.
I might have to already break my new years resolution and it is only seven and a half hours into the new year. Remember the big RAT that lives out front? I know where he is living and what he is eating. Well, we had what they call big trash pick up in Dallas the week of Christmas, but Terry didn't break down any boxes or put stuff out. I lugged several large overstuffed trash bags out there...and they are now gone with the pick up, but behind the front wall of our house is a mountain of empty boxes and bags of trash. When I think about it I do remember we actually have general trash pick up TWICE a week. But one must carry the trash out to the trash can in the alley for the truck to pick it up. On Monday we could hear the trash truck in the alley. He makes a run up the alley, turns around and comes back down. Remember we have been in the house four weeks. The first morning here we met the trash man and got the schedule of Mon/Thurs. for pick up in back. Yesterday Terry says to me..."Was that the trash man I heard in the alley?" Oh yeah, I responded in my head, but outwardly looked innocent and said, "I think so, did you get the trash out for pick up?" He shook his head and said no, he had forgotten about it and had not put anything out at all over the past four weeks. Hotel Pace is open to the Big Fat Rat...BFR living in it outside the front door.
I can't think about that one. I do not want to know where all the generated trash has gone...it must be in the mess out front. On Wednesday Morgan and I will have to make a trip to the dump. Oh what fun it is to have added work to my every growing list. I need to reflect today more on that new years list as well.
Move forward into 2008 knowing that the Lord knows the desires of your heart. Acknowledge those desires and give them credibility. Life celebrating opportunities are in front of each of us. Believe in the vision of GOOD and it will happen. Believe in the Lord and know he will provide what you need in abundance for 2008.
If he does it for the birds and the BFR living out front, he most certainly will do it for you and me.
Blessings in abundance to you and your families
Laurie
