Friday is near dawning, I am blogging and then I am packing. I finished the painting above yesterday morning.
Yesterday was also my last day here with my students in Justin Texas. I have watched so many of these youngsters grow up. Aly has been with me since Kindergarten and she is in Junior High School now. She is a superior artist that has incredible depth of talent and it has been a gift to me to be a part of her life. Another promising student is Sophia. She is an engaging child that has been with me three years. She is talented not just in her art, but also in her piano playing. In art you sit in wonderment as she paints and what you might shudder about, she immediately rolls the painting into an unbelievable finish of technique and color. There is Krysta that cannot draw at all, but her whole essence is about COLOR. She repeatedly takes first place in most of our art competition because of the raw energy and color that oozes out of her work. She too has been with me close to seven years.
The trio of Brendan, Victoria and Ashley, they will remain so close in heart as if they are our grandchildren. Victoria was four when we moved in and she and grandson Jonathan grew rapidly before our eyes learning to ride bikes and take on life as they reached school age. All three of this brother/sister group is talented in both music and art. DEEPLY talented. Ashley is in college now and she is studying to be an art teacher. She assisted me with classes the last two or three years now. All three have studied guitar, piano and art with me.
God truly placed us here for a time and the gift to us has been knowing all these unbelievable children. I pray with our move that we will continue to grow with them and still be a part of their lives. Some of my newest students will travel into Dallas for lessons. Home schooling allows them the flexibility to do this. It will make the move a bit easier knowing this. My heart is heavy saying goodbye but letting go in life is always hard. God places us in certain situations to give and take with people in our lives. It is our blessing to experience what we do and hopefully we all give everything we have everyday to reap back those great gifts. The gift of watching the students I have had here has been tremendous. A year ago in the larger house I kept up with 37 students between music and art. We had huge recitals with props, staging, piano, guitars, singing etc. We did "The Sound of Music from the Seventies", we did "Grease Revisited" and several other take offs on well known musicals. I have to go cry now....
Packing up the dreams God's planted in the fertile soil of you...
I can't believe the hopes He's granted Means this chapter in our life is through... cause we'll keep you close as always... it won't even seem you've gone... cause our hearts, in big and small ways...
will keep the love that keeps us strong...
And friends are friends forever if the Lord's the Lord of them
and a friend will not say never for the welcome never ends
Though it's hard to let you go, in our Father's hands we know
that a life time's not too long... to live as friends...
With the faith and love God's given springing from the hope we know... We will pray the joy you'll live in has the strength that now we show... and we'll keep you close, as always it won't even seem we've gone cause our hearts in big and small way will keep the love that keeps us strong...
Friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them...
and a friend will not say never, for the welcome never ends
Though it's hard to let you go, in our Father's hands we know
That a life times's not to long to live as friends...
A lifetime's not to long to live as friends...

"Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.' " Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town." 1 Samuel 20:42
