Mid Summer Nights Dream
Oil on Canvas  SOLD  by Laurie Pace

Afternoon here in Texas and hot with temperatures over 106 plus. I actually painted this piece in June for Mid Summer Nights Dream and it is a favorite with the Good People Series of which there were about 11 pieces. There will be no more pieces painted in this series.
There is one Good People painting left in my store that is 60 x 90 inches. All thick oil paint and ridges every direction. It is reduced right now going into fall. Don't miss out.

The Good People 2024

"In Waiting, I waited, for the Lord." Ps 40:1

Think about waiting for something... something you are expecting and you battle for patience. I remember being in class in junior high, and the class I had before lunch... I was a clock watcher in that class alone.  9th grade I must have had last lunch.  Back in my days 9th grade was part of Jr High. Watching the seconds arm going around the face of the clock... waiting and counting to hear the bell.

Read full message here.

Waiting is difficult. Streams compares it to walking... I would much rather be walking. Waiting requires patience and as you tire out waiting, patience disappears.  Today's reading in Streams of the Desert,  (which I always recommend through the phone app or read in the link above), talks about God building hedges around his people.... those type of hedges seems simply for protection but when the hedge grows his people cannot see over the top and freedom seems gone.  It gives the feeling of being in a cage. Impatience creeps in staring straight up waiting for movement of hedge clippers of another face over the hedge edge. The hedge also appears to be thickening... pushing inward and upward with growth.

If you stop and think, God has always wanted us to find joy in everything, be it a blessed happy situation or a devastating dark situation. When that hedge is there it is rather hard to feel like your small area is joyful bright area. Seems darker each day.  Psalms 37:23 reads "the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord."   Today's Streams of the Desert's reading mentions that George Mueller had a notation in his Bible that God also orders the 'stops' in our lives.  Do you get those? I know I do!  When we are hedged in we are at a stop that God has planned for us.  The world would be changed if we challenged and pushed our way through out of the small area we are in,  through the hedge... Please remember that the Lord will lead you in everything.

Right now in the midst of our lives and the loss of a dear family member way too soon on our human calendars, they left to be with the Lord on His schedule and not on mine.  I did not believe I had the strength to go through this experience the past ten days. Day one was catastrophic.  My jaws felt locked and my heart cried out but the tears would simply spill out of my eyes like a running faucet. My God kept me on feet even when I felt lightheaded and ready to collapse.  He provided the exact power I needed. He waited with me through that day and every day since....then; it was 12 days ago. He led me through that day with strength and peace once I rested in Him. This victory got me through... through the service of life celebration a week ago... and through this day and every day forward.

So tell me how you stand behind that hedge and wait?  How do you not lose heart, not lose patience, not lose hope... but are fully dependent on the will of God? How do you bring joy into your mind to continue on?

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
