Horse 25 Sunrise Graze, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace aka Everything's Coming up Roses

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 25 Sunrise Graze 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Lady L was here with me, can you tell? The challenge was to use lots of pink in this little gem of a horse painting... and I am drawn to the pink in the sunrise colors. I could easily see two horses standing side by side in the early breaking sunrise, grazing on the golden grass reflecting the sun's rosy gold colors. In my heart I am singing that old song, 'Everything's coming up Roses.' For you Millennials ... Meaning: you can say "everything's coming up roses" if everything is turning out very well for someone or for something. For you Baby Boomers and Generation X,  Meillennials are right on your heels. Birth years early eighties through early 2000's.  Seems like every generation has their nickname and with it a different outlook and goal f...

Horse 24 Walking the Lines, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Walking the Lines 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Texture fills this new small equine painting. Texture filled with edges of paint, criss-crossing and forming hatches and jags throughout the surface of the horse painting. With a cool palette of blues, mauves and greens, accent colors pull strongly with the oranges contrasting the blues. What do you have in life that is a contrast for you? I really tend to be conservative and live my life without gambling or taking many chances. Strange though, this does not apply in my artwork. My artwork is the contrast in my life as well as one of the greatest gifts I have, the ability to create.  Terry laughs at me. I love to go into Lowe's or Home Depot and walk through the wood aisles.  I love the smell of wood. I believe in another life I would have been a carpenter as it is ...

Horse 23 Blaze of White, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 23 Blaze of White 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The 'lushness' of spring is beginning to literally burst around us. Trees that had no leaves yesterday are dresses in a fuzz of light green today and probably by tomorrow a rich green layer of leaves open. The inspiration was the green of spring. The unique part of this horse is the unique blending of paint through the face of the horse around the right eye. I love the accidental flow of paint creating both energy with blends and excitement with lines. Have already had several spring horses so I gave this one a 'white blaze'.  In life do you 'blaze' through things? Are you known for a particular gift or talent? If you are, I give thanks that you recognize the bounty of what you have and that you will share it with others in service to others.  ...

Horse 22 Gaze of Strength, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 22 Gaze of Strength 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas.  Available Paintings Here Remnant   tinges of the raspberry pink bleed through the reds and mauves on this surface of a horse painting. The startling effect of the Indian Gold on the neck near the mane creates a path for the eye to feel the gentle neck of the horse.  Strength in the face and eyes on this equine, hence the name, Gaze of Strength. Finally the trees are budding out with green leaves.  It is officially spring by the calendar. I noted on the weather news last night the record high for a date last week was 100 degrees. ??? (this is March?)  We were at a high that day of 54 and a low that night around freezing. It happened in 1916. Ninety-eight years ago.  I actually remember in 2007, seven years ago, we had the wettest spring and summer I had seen in my life time. We ne...

Horse 21, Kissing Cousins, Horse Paintings by Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 21 Kissing Cousins 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is a busy week with family obligations and happenings. I painted some over the weekend and will have paintings maybe every other day to share.  I continue to work on some big pieces for my galleries but intend to continue painting this small precious ones for my website. I filled two palettes with colors... warm colors on one and cool colors on the other and I began to work. It was so much easier with the colors laid out before me and not reaching for tubes every time I wanted a new color. It was easy. It was fun. Paddy remains with fuzzy hairy ears and his look of big head dog. Not sure when we will have time to finish him but at least he is manageable on his body right now. Terry got a haircut last week too, so that leaves me to be next, just not sure when....

Colors in Sunrise Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Colors in Sunrise 12 x 12 inches Acrylic on Canvas.SOLD Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Not much time this morning...but I think if you visit the available paintings site you can see some good close ups of all the paintings. This one was playing with acrylics and literally piling them thickly on the surface. I have a huge 40 x 60 inch canvas on my main easel so I feel sort of overwhelmed while I am working. Very distracted. Sometimes I feel my life is over piled with things and they are not as colorful as these paints. Setting yourself free is possible but you have to be willing to let go. Are you ready to? I will if you will.   But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed   Romans 2:5 #h...

Watching Over Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Watching Over 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  It has Lady L signature Pink Purple in it!  It started with an acrylic base and then the layering of the oils with my palette knife. I love the tiny woven in bits or orange. I make it with Quinacridone Scarlet and Cad Yellow Light. It is a yummy color for me. I am doing different sizes with some of the paintings... some are larger and some are the 8 x 8 gems. I love those the most. I hope you are enjoying the explosion of color from my studio. You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.  Romans 2:1 #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   ...

Red Sun Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Red Sun 12  x 12  inches Oil on Canvas.SOLD Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  It was a 'red' day I guess. I felt pretty strong putting this color throughout the composition. It has an acrylic layer for sealing below the heavy oil layering. You can see some really good close up pictures at the link above for available paintings.  Lady L made sure it had some pink purple in it as well as she watched over the process.  Lady L is my five year old granddaughter. She is back painting with me after the past year. I cannot wait to see what she turns out now.  Think about how many people you influence in one day by your actions and your words.  Keep life in a positive direction and give to others when you can. I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—  that is, that you and I...

Blue Reflections Horse Paintings, Pulled Painted Ponies by Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Blue Reflections 36  x 36 x 2  inches Oil on Canvas. This painting will be available at The Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole. Other Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  It is time to think about spring painting for new pieces for different galleries. This particular piece will travel to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to be at the Rare Gallery.  They have represented my work since 2007.  They requested a painted pony pull (above) a large wolf and maybe a second painted pony pull and a buffalo painting.  I chose this quiet color palette of blues, purples and violets to be in contrast of my normally wild colors that seem to cover the spectrum. When Stacey, my daughter, said it was a thumbs up, I knew it was good as gold! So I sent the image up the Rare and they loved it. Meanwhile on the home front... Paddy got a hair cut today.  I do ...
