Praying for Others

I miss going to the Ranch again early this morning. Actually Terry and I are heading out to see Candy and Dave at Selah Ranch around nine this morning.... but I miss the people that were here this weekend. I miss the artists and the artist-hood we developed.  I put the slide show over on the side column of this blog.  There were 13 attending artists... Barbara Haviland, Kristye Addison Dudley, Ann Morgan, Gladys Justus, Jane Crosbie from New Zealand, Nancy Coleman, Kathy Mackey, Barbara Brown, Wanda Wakefield, Belita Luman, Lori Wittke, and Katie and Neeya.

We became such a close family and staying at Selah is like being in the Garden of Eden.  The folks at the ranch kept us spoiled beyond your wildest dreams. The food was over the top of the scale and the accommodations were stunning. Candy has the gift of decorating to make you feel at home. Please visit their website: Selah Ranch

I am already thinking about a second workshop in November.  Let me know if you might be interested in visiting the Piney Woods of East Texas then or in October.  I was thinking November might be cooler but October would be pretty. So email me what would be better for you.  Hubby could come fish or just veg out in front of one of the huge big screen TVs and watch sports all day. There are things for the kids to do and their are golf carts to drive around the 1000 acres. The food will even knock him off his feet...clean air, good food, beauty all around and lots of creative art making.

I am holding all the artists that came to Selah Ranch in prayer as they return to their daily lives.  I affirm the love of God in their lives and in their art. This past weekend we confirmed in all of our work the synchronicity which reflects His creativity. As in life, as in art, there must be a spontaneity as well as serendipity in each composition. The artist must work PAST their comfort zone to be truly creating... otherwise they are in a rut painting the same old thing or painting what other artists are painting. NO ONE in this workshop painted anything like another person.  I watched some of the most technically correct painters painfully let go of stayed and true ways and open up their minds to approaching art in a different way. THEN learning to use different methods to check for balance and color outlay to improve values and final results in each piece they did.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
