This is an incredibly strong horse painting that I did at my Lake Studio "Golden Pond Studio back in 2012. It began as a tree painting called "Rooted". (See Below) I love trees probably more than horses...but it was horses the Lord called me to paint for the past twenty five years.  I started and finished the trees on this 40 x 40 canvas, but something did not feel right...    I loved the branches and the green but the ground not so much.   The paint was oil and still wet in the morning and I spent till after lunch debating, and the Horse won. Her fav Bible verse is what you will read next.  Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."   Lady L stopped painting last summer and she had sold everything she did when she painted....many sold before she finished the pieces.   She is onward and upward to other things!  I miss her in the studio. Never have I waited this long to paint in a new year. There are no more tears or what ifs coming from me. Right now I have a new gathering of colorful Dahlias and Begonias to plant in pots outside my studio window this weekend.
