© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Pony Up  9 x 12 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Good morning. .. I have been in the studio working this morning and taking photos of a new Painting. The one above is Pony Up from 2012 when we lived at the Lake. I miss that studio with six large windows opening across the back of the house where I painted on a closed in porch looking toward the west but looking over the water. It was a dream come true!!! We were in our late fifties then. Not sure it would work as well scooting back out there in our early 70's.    I AM JUST EXCITED right now to be working on a large 30 x 40 inch painting. Here is a quick glimpse. Gives you a look at the colors on this one! I have taken my time with her working 2-3 hours every other day.  Finding my way again to the passion I hold to my heart dearly... the gift of painting and teaching art...from God! I was hesitant the first four or five days... but everyday as I walk into this

Watching over our Nation.

Oil on Canvas and lots of contrasting color. I am painting again so we will see where things go!  Thankful to the Lord for giving me the passion to even open a tube of paint! It certainly has been quite a weekend.  I was in the shower when President Trump was shot on Saturday. It was the sudden messages on my phone from my daughter that alerted me.  The divide and hate in this country is swelling out of control.  We attended membership classes at Countryside Bible church on Sunday with a heavy heart over what happened, but that is nothing they discuss here. Their promise and commitment to God is to teach (not preach) the Bible. It is from this approach to our faith, we have continued to grow in knowledge that deepens our faith. It feeds our faith and guides our every action.  There is not t

West by Northwest God is always there

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 West by Northwest Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Good morning. .. the hurricane has left Texas and we had only a sprinkle of rain and some wind. Praying for all friends and family that have been affected by the hurricane through storms and loss of power. West by Northwest was an investigative painting and when I did this back in 2014, I truly did not know what would come out of it until it presented itself DONE!  As true to my nature 99% of the time there is an odd number of horses as well as my odd chest into leg area on the white horse. I had this 'thing' about hearts and horses back then.  No more.  The magic here for me is the layers of color and light and horses... almost like an early morning fog and you can see them but not make out the things around them. Some horse paintings are more magical than others! Enjoy.  This morning in Streams of the Desert , the Bible verse and story were delivered at this day for

Wild Things and Wild Times

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Wild Thing 30 x 40  Oils on Canvas IN PROCESS Available when complete  by Laurie Pace   This is a larger painting and I am taking it slowly with steps. Took two days to draw out and plan from an older sketch.  NOT actually in correct form. It was a loose sketch but I decided I wanted to go with it. Life and People are never perfect... it is the moment, the mind and and where you are in life.  I will post more as I work on it. This was two days in drawing and 2 days doing the first glazing layers.  My Sketch Thoughts for Today My Biblical share today is from Countryside Bible Church from our Pastor, who is three weeks out of his heart stopping. He told us today only 5 percent of people that experience this survive.  God is not finished with him yet...for sure.  He led us to read Psalm 116.  As I read it with him I wondered why I had not read this Psalm enough to remember it was here. I am guessing you have not either.
