HOME…He’n and She’n is home!
They live in Ft Worth, Texas!
Living in the Dallas Ft Worth area gives us welcome visits with my collectors. I think it is my favorite part of this job. It became part of my clients love story! This sweet horse painting was a look back at when I met my husband. I was 11 and he was 13 and it was summer of 1964. I would turn 12 a few months later, slightly catching up. He had turned 13 in July of that year. Those early teen years were filled with giggles, hand written notes on notebook paper, swimming at friend’s houses… and as always church and family. We had small parties on many weekends once spring of 1966 hit. I cannot even imagine what this is like in today’s world. We have lifelong friends from this time and we were all well loved within everyone’s families. I only had one friend with a working mother, the rest were moms and housewives that seem to love what they did…enough to make me want 13 kids. 😳😂☺️.
Time for the great experiment…. With my second round of SICK since we did my Moms services in January, I am just now out of bed and walking slowly. Some congestion but the dry hack finally productive. I am pronouncing it on the mend. My Doctors office told me yesterday this is happening. People are picking up this virus and sick for 7-10 days…start feeling better and wham less than two weeks later it returns like a well flung boomerang. I sadly tacked it on my full list of life in 2023 extending two full months into 2024.
I have had a lot of time for reflection and tears as I am still rehabbing my right arm. Cannot even go for my accupuncture like this, but I continued my Turmeric supplement and most inflammation has resolved. I also binged the Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Especially good if you cannot sleep and you are coughing.
Other reflection has been with the decision to cut way back on all social media. Facebook is closing stores/ businesses that won’t pay for Meta and allow people to buy on Meta. Sorry, Meta failed me fall of 2022 when they had zero help for me when a group of five Vietnamese people (who were part of a breach at Facebook that summer) happily took over my personal FB page and my store and charged 10K to my credit card on file with Meta for my ads. Now they want to say they can handle a platform for people to list items and they sell them for us? Oh but we still have to do all the marketing and pay them for advertising and allowing them to reap money from the sale….a middle man cut. ? 🙁☹️😏😜
With it will go Instagram as I have to be signed up for meta there as well. I will be closing all accounts. Linked In I will keep because I post occasionally but I never scroll there at all. Same with Twitter. I cannot pay their monthly fee either. 🙃😀🥰
I have added a larger time in the morning with the Lord when I wake. This enriches my life and the peace of each day is now a reality. I hope to start walking again. Four or five weeks off with this stuff has been challenging. 😍
Have you thought about ditching social media? Everyone I know has not looked back…they love the peace and sometimes solitude of boredom or free thought time. They do not miss the endless scroll on the phone, iPad or laptop. They are not affected by all the pumped up “look at me” postings. I have realized most of what people post is performative and really not much about the reality of every day life. Someone shared that ‘recording memories’ actually was not as precious as living those memories without your phone taking photos. Using a hand held camera actually is the better choice.
One day at a time. Live your best life!
