“Be still, sad heart! and cease repining; Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;  Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall” ― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Ballads and Other Poems

Into each life rain does fall.  In mine and in yours. Trying times are part of our life's journey. Trying times brings on distress... and that becomes full blown stress.  One of my favorite things to do when I am on that edge of despair is to think about happier times that were full of joy and love.   I might even look for old pictures that bring back moments of that calmer time.

This image is one of my favorite photos from the lake. The composition brings you in from the bottom right and grows into the top left in full bloom of leaves.  We are always climbing mountains... or sliding into valleys. Know that times will pass and everything will change.  How you look at life is how you handle life. Keeping a positive attitude in the worse times makes the journey easier.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.  2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV

I just wanted to thank you for this post and the one from yesterday. I love your artwork and read your daily blog posts, but these last two feel as if they were written just for me. My mom had a stroke on Tuesday, and although they said it was on the milder side, it still caused some pretty debilitating damage. All strokes are bad, they just leave various levels of devastation in the aftermath. I would prefer a mild heart attack to a mild stroke any day! Our whole world has been turned upside down in an instant. I just wanted to say thank you for these last two posts because they made me feel that this won't last forever and that I have the strength to handle our "new normal" when most of the time I don't feel that way at all.

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
