'Your Light' Collage Butterfly Mixed Medium Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Your Light' 9 x 6  Mixed Mediums on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: Somewhere along the way last year I lost "heart" and fell behind trying to experiment with new things in my art.  Next to come is a very large collage of the heart. This is building up to where I want to go with other pieces and playing with delicate papers and varnish overlays.  I did this on New Years Day at Stacey's house. The Thought: I heard from a reader of my blog that she was worried about my slight change in writing on my blog.  It touched my heart that she took the time to write me and share what was in her heart to help me mend.  It is a cherished gift and I am thankful to receive her kind words and sharing of her experiences.   Everything we do, we should do it from the heart. Laurie " Your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of everyone of you fo...

'Rose Bowl' contemporary FLORAL FLOWER Daily OIL PAINTING by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Rose Bowl' 24 x 36  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2005 The Painting:   This was from the archives. I actually did some collaging at Stacey's house on Jan 1st, but have not shot pictures of it. Will try and do that! The Thought:   This can't come from the archive as I write it from my heart with every key stroke.  Every heartbeat is from God's hand .. your heartbeat and mine. Every second is yours to take and use to the best it can be used. My wish for you this day is not to waste any part of it.  Live it as it was meant to be lived. As we took down the Christmas tree yesterday and I carefully put away my new manger scene... I thought lovingly of the angel that bought it for our family.   She is a dear sister/friend that lives far from us in Texas.  As I cradled each piece dusting it and wrapping it carefully... I thought of her and h...

'Sunflower Trio' Contemporary Floral Art Sunflowers Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Sunflower Trio' 24 x 36  Oil on Canvas SOLD  Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting : Since we spent yesterday at the Tink's house and I heard my daughter sing "you are my Sunshine" 100 plus times...I had to post sunflowers for the second of January. Look below and see if you don't agree. Here is our Tink in her COZY COUPE: The Thought:   The new year brings new thoughts and new adventures ...but yet the old year still has things happening around you and in your life. While you eagerly anticipate the joy of the new this day, you probably have much of the old tugging away at you. Have you ever gotten yourself into something while really "heartfully" trying to help someone?   I am there and have hit the wall.  Examining the situation I know I can only trust God is going to see me through it because I don't have the desire or strength to go the journey. ...

'Soul Mates' Contemporary Equine Art Horse Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Soul Mates' 24 x 36  Mixed Medium on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:   Soul Mates... Yes this is for the two friends, lovers, couples, married folks... the two people that are in sync with each other.  The two that can finish a sentence for each other or know what the other is thinking from miles away.  Soul Mates.  One of my UK collectors saw this and said it reminder her of Easter.  The more I looked I saw what she saw... the Lord is part of your soul as well...woven through you and about you...His touch surrounds you. The Thought : HAPPY NEW YEAR!   2010 is here and the beginning of a new decade.  Are you ready to go?  Are you ready to start a new day in a new decade and a new life dropping all the old stress you carry around?  If you can figure it out, drop me another email...I am still working on it. NO I did not make a l...

'Wild Stallion Run' Contemporary Equine Art Horse Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Wild Stallion Run' 30 x 30  Acrylic on Canvas SOLD THIS MORNING ALREADY! THANK YOU! Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:   Deep and Rich are the two main adjectives for this piece. I will probably do a similar follow up piece and I loved moving the paint around on the canvas. The Thought:   Someone once ask me how long it took to complete a particular painting.   My reply was one shared with me by fellow artist Diane Whitehead.... my reply was simply, "It took 57 years."  That is how old I am, and truly that is how long it took to do this particular painting.  Diane was correct as it takes every experience in our lives to get where we are at this second.  So as the year 2009 comes to a close this evening , I look back at a year of so many blessings I cannot count them.  Change alone is a blessing if you look at it that way.  Change...

'Three in the Snow' Contemporary Equine Art Horse Daily Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

'Three in the Snow' 18 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: Three in the Snow started out to be Jade on her horse but when I started applying the chocolate colored paint it truly took on its own life and is no longer what it was originally. Those are really the most unique pieces that take on a strong spirit of their own. The Thought:   Is this what you want to do for the rest of your life?  Is this all there is?   Yesterday was movie marathon day as we had rain, sleet and snow . Prepared for the stay at home day, we had bought New York Strip Steaks from Whole foods. Terry grilled the steaks and I made homemade mashed red potatoes, fresh steamed green beans and salted Ciabatta bread. Terry spent the day on his computer and Crystal and I spent it vegging on the couches watching movies.  We started out with The Lake House, th...

'Eggs in a Basket' Contemporary Still Life Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Eggs in the Basket' 18 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2005 The Painting: From the files again... but a favorite.  I remember the day this one sold and it went to live in Seattle I think. The Thought: The original saying is don't put all your eggs in the same basket. ..but I sort of disagree with that. As a believer, ALL MY EGGS are in HIS BASKET.  I trust Him implicitly with "my eggs".   My hopes, dreams, fears, love, desires, heartache, illness, joys and laughter... are all in "His Basket". When you are ready, you too will realize they are all safer there than anywhere else .  In His Hands... all your eggs. He doesn't even need the basket, He won't drop any of them. Laurie “ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. ”- Matthew 11:28

'Six New Abstract Roses' Contemporary Modern Abstract Roses in a Vase Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Six New Abstract Roses' 18 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: This is from my archives from 2005.  I painted this weekend, but this next week I will be taking a break from the studio. I have several large commission pieces I will start and I do not want to waver from working on them....and try and do small things just to post.  So I will comb through the back files and put up different images of past work. The Thought: Today for me will be a day of centering .... centering in absolute peace and acknowledging that GOD is indeed in charge of this day, this week, this month, this year and my life.  There are storms raging around me both in the weather and in my own family; there is another missed vacation this week due to weather and family. Yet I know deep inside of me is a place of peace that I can go to and 'float' in calm wa...

'Looking Up for the New Year' Equine Contemporary Art Horse Oil Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Up for the New Year' 20 x 30  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: This sums it up... looking up for the New Year and what is too come.  Searching for my highest good. The Thought: Do you know your highest good?   Despite all the electronic gadgets we have, do we actually know our own highest good?  We track each other around by cell phone all day texting or talking;  we use navigational aids to find our destination and plot our best route. Yesterday I spent three hours at two different Verizon stores getting Crystal's phone fixed.   A new one is on the way, but we had to fight our way through technology and a long waiting game at the second Verizon store. We got Ben updated with a new phone today too.  He had one of those hot battery things going. That is never good.  What do we have to figure this out in our journey of lif...

'Solitary Horse' Equine Contemporary Art Horse Oil daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Solitary Horse' 20 x 30 inches  Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009  A different blog today!  Reflections of yesterday ...Christmas Day.   With the coming of the new year I tend to have thoughts of what to change or fix in my life. Improvements for the NEW ME.  Yes, even after all these years there is always hope.  The day did not start out well yesterday and that probably began my thought process or set the stage for it.  My male dog, Paddy, decided to "mark" my bookcase in the studio. Mind you this is a six foot tall book case crammed full of artbooks from my teaching... old masters, current artists, periodicals, magazines etc etc.  Needless to say, the bottom shelf is toast. What is usually on the bottom shelf?   The large heavy collector books.  This dog is 6 years old.  He has never done this before... he must be pretty mad at...

'Golden Morning' Christmas Greetings from our home to your heart. Equine art Horse Daily Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Morning Sky' 5 x 7 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD THIS MORNING>... the first morning after Christmas Day! Thank you. Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: This is the fifth in my Modern Small Horse Series. They are gorgeous framed in thick frames. I saved this one for my card to you this day! The Thought :  Here is our slide show from Christmas Eve.  Dallas received a blow from the north with lots of wind and snow.  All Church Services were canceled and we finished up our evening early so every one could get home while it was light. All bridges and overpasses were closed down with the storm. We made the decision not to even attempt to try and attend my brothers annual Christmas Party. This is something we look forward to every year.  We will enjoy the German Stollen they dropped off for us to eat Christmas Morning.  A white Christmas is rare indeed... a...

'Day Dreams' Music Series Antique Music Varnish Overlays Painting By Texas Artist Laurie Pace Piano and Child

'Day Dreams' 15 x 30 inches  Oil on Canvas Commission a Music Piece. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:   This is a commission I finished just in time for Christmas . It is a second version of my birthday girl that I did almost two years ago. The Thought: Christmas Eve Day is upon us . BRRR it is cold outside in Dallas. The prediction is for rain turning to snow by noon today and icy conditions along with 1-3 inches of snow. This is rare in Dallas and even rarer on Christmas Eve.  I am not sure how it will affect our family Christmas, it may be delayed. My day is lined out to make home-made chicken pot pie with fresh veggies and an organic hen.  Mom brought over an apple pie with cheese mixed into the crust. How I do remember growing up when my Dad ate apple pie he always sliced a huge chunk of cheese across the top of it.  I will take Pictures today as we do everything and post it tomorrow in a ...
