Why is it at the end of every day I can think of 100 things to write and share pertaining to life, love, family and painting, but at 11 am... my brain is still trying to make sure I finished what I needed to do this morning!.  This would be why I always blogged the night before and posted it to release in the early morning hours. Something to be said about 'the old days'.  Launching into November. Feels officially like fall is here when we reach the first of November. The trees in Texas rarely turn with color.  Our elm in the front yard is getting its tiny yellow leaves and the red oaks in the back are still green!  I do believe the fall colors are part of the painting I have been working on ove...

I am working on a painting for Mirada Fine Art for their Holiday Push in November and December. I started this piece out more in frustration and celebration if they can be mentioned in the same sentence.  Many of you know of the battle on Facebook for me and why I am leaving the platform. The best part is you will see more of my art and process here on the blog I have had for 23 years.  Hence frustration turning to celebration. Deut.31:6  Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them,  for it is the  LORD  your God who goes with you.  He will not leave you or forsake you.” The painting began with just rust on the surface with a glaze to it. Next came the blues, the whites and finally the orange.  I do have an idea of where I am going ...

Fall Rains and Facebook FALL RAINS: Some days I am not sure which direction to go, other than to the Lord.  This beautiful painting is one of the last painted pony pulls with color and a palette knife that I did and it is still available.  Just click through on the painting or on the " Available ". It is framed and the colors and thickness of the paint is incredibly strong. The colors in this photo do not do it justice, but if you click through, you will see the close up brilliant colors and texture of the thick buttery paint I use.   It is October but I have to keep reminding myself. At least we have only seen nineties a few days ago.  Tomorrow will be mainly seventies but a...

Water, Water everywhere... is it in your life? Laurie Justus Pace

The Water in Your Life We were on a trip returning from Saugerties, New York, driving through Pennsylvania when I spotted something that created a huge change in my life.  We were on a two lane road, (I do have a photo on my other computer), passing barns and older homes with wash hanging on the lines.. which included colorful quilts. As we turned a sharp curve/corner in the road and we slipped into the cover of woods. I had the window rolled down and begin to catch a glimmer in the tree line of tree trunks. It was a large brook with racing water tumbling over large rocks.  We followed parallel to the 'brook' stream for almost two full miles before it bent another direction. The spray of running water thr...

This painting is about the end of those LONG HOT summer days that lasted through the middle of September for us in north Texas. It was not just HOT it was DANG HOT.   The painting holds the fresh bliss of that new sunrise in September. It has a softness to it. It is beautiful.  This is from Sunday Morning around 7:30.  Does not get much prettier waking up to the soft autumn sky.  Can you see...

Nothing stimulates our appetite for the simple joys of life more than the starvation caused by sadness or desperation. In order to complete our amazing life journey successfully, it is vital that we turn each and every dark tear into a pearl of wisdom, and find the blessing in every curse. ” ― Anthon St. Maarten, Divine Living: The Essential Guide To Your True Destiny  The Truth of Experience It was about 20 plus years ago that I came to the realization that you cannot appreciate love if you do not experience hate. You cannot appreciate joy unless you know sa...
