We visited on and off for a week and I sent images to her.  Well last night I was speaking with a collector from Wimberly Texas and she mentioned seeing my work in the newest edition of C&I.  Mind you it was already 9 pm...but I started up my little diesel  Passat  (She was not hap

'Tom's Roses' Daily oil Flower Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Tom's New Roses' 20 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting: Another oldie from 2005 that is sold. It was inspired by our friend Tom's beautiful back yard in Flower Mound Texas. The Thought:   Last night was quite a night... we began our march into Christmas.  We lit our candles on the advent wreath and discussed Joy and how we each interpreted it.  Then we feasted on home made beef vegetable soup with homemade organic cornbread. The soup was all organic too.  Thick rich tomato base with fresh asparagus, fresh snap green beans, fresh corn cut off the cobs, fresh cut up tomatoes, fresh onion, celery, orange bell pepper and carrots... then some wonderful center cut angus beef that Terry cut into one inch cubes, floured and sauted in olive oil.  We will eat this for days! Then came the fun. Crystal has never done Christmas cookies, icing and decorating

Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:  This is the second in the mini series I am doing.  Again a perfect stocking stuffer for your equine lover. The Thought:  With this season of advent I am challenging you to renew the SPIRIT and enrich your life.  Every year at the end of the year we all begin thinking about New Year's Resolutions.  I do not even want to go there.   Give some thought as to how you can renew the Spirit in your life.    You might think about praying a bit more and talking and walking with God.  Do it when you are not distracted...when things are calm. If the weather allows, try walking outside and surround yourself with God's creation. I guarantee you will be calmer and more rested when you are done. Yesterday I continued on with my calmness and my moment by moment talks with God.  Every single time I began to stress

Email me if you are interested. The Thought :  I had one of THOSE dreams last nigh t..the kind where you are falling and you wake suddenly.  It was only about two hours into my sleep cycle and very unusual for me to dream things like that. I googled it on the internet and was surprised by some of what I read and some I was not surprised by.  It said it was pretty common to have dreams like this when your life is undergoing changes and there is much outside stress you cannot control.  I remember writing about that last week, and how a friend from PA emailed me some thoughts that made me adjust my life.   The google info also said this was common for people to dream of falling if they were fighting for control with God.  Interesting.  The way it came down in the dr

We missed it one road too soon but veered off to the north and picked up the right road and traveled through some gorgeous Texas countryside.  Serious horse farms, hall bales and wonderful old farm houses just bursting with grazing cattle and gardens still producing for winter. I told my mom with all our travels each year from Dallas to St Louis , several times a year... I always wanted to take off down one

One of my favorite places to go is remembering a trip on our sailboat, which is a catamaran.  When we were skimming across the lake, I love to lay flat on the trampoline and watch the clouds or close my eyes and feel the movement over the water.  For me that is so relaxi

Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  Yes, a new one... one of the pulled paints done in Acrylic paint.   Ready for a new home for Christmas. Email me with an offer:   Laurie The Thought: Love...my thoughts are rolling into the arena of love. When does love begin? Does it have a beginning?  God does not have a beginning or ending and His love for us is the same. No matter what we do to ourselves and our lives...God loves us unconditionally.  We tend to sink our selves and punish ourselves more than He ever could. God's heart was prepared for us before we were even created. His love is unchangeable. Can you imagine standing in a very warm shower enjoying it as the water pelts gently down on your back or face... and the water stays hot and never gets cold?  You could stand there 24 hours and the hot water would continue? OR that you coul

'Grazing in Snow' 18 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting : From my archives.   Soft with the moment in winter when the wind stops and snow is piled high and even the cold does not feel cold....the horses are business as usual. The Thought : Our daughter is a junior in high school and taking all the PSAT testing etc.   We received a pamphlet in the mail from the school district, SAT PREP COURSE.  Raise your Score on teh SAT, Enroll in the RISD SAT Prep course. WHY?  In the past 10 years since we sent our last one to college, the SAT has become the highest law into getting into college. SAT, ACT, and lots of paranoid parents putting the students through prep courses wanting their son/daughter to get into the best college.  Why are we doing all of this? Why are we complicating our lives so much? WHY so much life prep in the wrong areas? More rules, more co
