Child on the Hill Contemporary Art Palette Knife Daily Painting Landscape Child by Laurie Justus Pace 11 x 14 Oil on Canvas SOLD For Commission Work, Contact me: Laurie I should feel like I am on vacation as I have not painted in a few days. This morning I will be painting. Yesterday was spent mainly at the hospital during daylight hours. What appears to be, is a tad bit of "inconsiderate hurrying" by the Doctor on Call at the OBGYN office. Stacey went in on Wednesday to be checked for early contractions and they determined through a sonogram that the cervix was not as thick as it should be. They did another test to determine if Labor was possible in the next two weeks. Now the on call doctor had the choice of labeling this test STAT for return information immediately and since he was admitting her to the hospital, he also had the option to have the hospital run the test for results in two hours. The goal was to decide if she was in danger of going into full labor this ea
The Joy of the Jump Contemporary Art Daily Painting Child and Horse Painting 20 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas COMMISSION for CHRISTMAS SOLD Contact me to do something for your home! Laurie Yesterday I spoke to you about what lies ahead. My daughter is in the hospital at 6 1/2 months into her pregnancy receiving steroid injections to help the baby's lungs develop. She has been having premature labor pains in a pretty intense way over an extended period of time. I am heading there shortly and will spend most of the day with her. I have packed her favorite GIRL movies and I am taking the baby quilt along that I have been working on. I will make some headway at least on that. Please keep them close in prayer as the doctors complete their work and as Stacey stays relaxed through the treatments. We are within the last week of the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Mary was already on that donkey riding toward Bethlehem. Unimproved roads, rocky terrain, switchbacks and no phones to cal

It was snowing when we got up and we HAD to go out in it of course. I needed to make the grocery store for a huge package of ground beef to make the dogs food. We lucked out and got a BUY IT NOW huge package for only $3.00. They will eat well the next five days. I use my big soup pot and fill it with about 8-9 cups of water. To that water as it begins to heat to a boil I add garlic and onion diced, and any left over veggies from the frig. Today it was small grape tomatoes, yellow squash, broccoli, black beans, and of course carrots. I also drop some vitamin D drops in the mixture along with a 1/4 cup of Olive Oil. When this comes to a boil, we add four cups of brown rice. You let this cook until the rice is done. At this point you add either chopped up chicken that you boiled and debo

Then I kept thinking about the last 8 x 10 painting I need to finish and the bookwork I did not do yesterday. I worked yesterday from 5:30 am until 9:15 last night NON STOP. Normally I would NOT work on Sunday, but we had 18 paintings to get out for Christmas and we had to get them to FEDEX today. COLD RAINY NIGHT IN DALLAS Contemporary Art Cityscape Rain Daily Painting Art By Morgan and Laurie Pace 18 x 24 inches THICK OIL PAINT SOLD Contact to Purchase: Laurie This is a mother/son painting. He loves working with color as you can see! He also is trying to pay his rent and feed his dog. At least his priorities are good! We worked on this painting together in the studio a few weeks ago. JOY JOY JOY JOY Do you know anyone that does not want joy in their lives? Unless it is Christmas or you read the Oprah magazine there is not much use of the word JOY in our language from day to day. Why does it seem there is not enough joy in our lives? The third candle we light today is the Joy Candle. We add this to Hope and Peace. Yesterday I was with a friend, Deborah, driving across north Texas from visiting Stacey and Larry. We were talking deeply, as we normally do, about life and where we are in life in our fifties. Deborah lost her f
My Horse Contemporary Art Daily Painting Horse and Child Painting 18 x 18 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work. Laurie In my videos you always see Terry's side of the work room. This is my side. This is the only chaotic room in the house, except the kitchen, which is being redone right now. I did not paint yesterday. Didn't feel good. Not normal for me at all. But I spent the day cleaning out kitchen cabinets and rearranging for the installation of the granite. Terry continues to strip cabinets so his job will be complete. Yes I need to take pictures. Stacey had a sonogram yesterday. She was having some leaking issues and they wanted to make sure all was good. New discovery...she is 29 weeks and the baby should be about 2.2 lbs in size. Well, Miss Lauren Gracen is already 3 lbs 8 ounces. Stacey still has 10 weeks to go and the baby will double the last four weeks....should we start a guessing game to size and weight ? Maybe we should do the predict
Living Color Contemporary Art Daily Painting Horse Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches of astounding color! Contact me for commission work or information on this painting. Laurie Normally I would read from Luke this morning, but I have minor issues to handle so it will be tomorrow. Minor issues are folks needing artwork DRY and shipped for Christmas. I am up after only 4 or 5 hours of sleep and working late last night to HOPEFULLY finish up today the last one. Here is the beginnings of it: I sneaked out the door for an hour yesterday morning to do Target with Mom. She is in the holiday mood. I need to just stay out of stores and then I do not spend money. I picked up a few gift bags, and a few small stocking stuffers and was in the men's department buying Terry some more long sleeve heavy pull over the head shirts to wear under his uniform at work. The others have shrunk as he gained weight. Must be all that candy I found in his backpack and the hot chocolate (h

Thursday arrived this morning with groans. One of the few days in the year I did NOT want to get up out of bed. I worked until after ten last night on commission paintings that need to dry and be shipped for Christmas. I will probably do another 18 hour day today as well. God is good. Remember the Joy and Abundance, I still chant that as I paint. Divine Order is in place. The granite man comes this afternoon to give us estimates on the kitchen counters and bathroom counters. YEAH! Terry brought home two more finished clean doors that he worked on at work. He took two more with him today. THERE IS HOPE! I guess I sho

I sold the trees yesterday, they are going to Utah! My dear husband is doing my kitchen cabinets for Christmas! I am so impressed as he is stripping down the wood. He began yesterday and I almost like them natural. We may just varnish them. While he was doing that I cleaned out closets. I might have to take pictures as proof. I have a missing pair of Black leggins I cannot find and it is driving me crazy. So the closets got cleaned out! Also donating the extra to dog rescue and they pick it up th

I was visiting with a collector in California yesterday and this one subject kept coming up. We all have mulled over the thoughts that we have to Let Go and Let God; we have accepted the fact if we makes plans, God is probably greatly amused; and we know we are to seek knowledge to provide wisdom to make decisions. This collector pointed out to me her greatest sin was over analyzing a situation every time. Most folks, and especially those left-brained ones, dissect every issue, every problem, contemplate every angle

The little TINK, Lauren Gracen is growing stronger every day! Poor Stacey is only a tiny bit over five ft tall and daddy Larry is 6ft 7inches so we are all watching Lauren grow. Not sure where Stacey will contain her. More on this tomorrow after the visit. I was very productive yesterday. The first thing I did was walk for about 45 minutes enjoying the early morning cold and the exercise. Then after some spiritually filled time, Mom came over and we ate lunch together. I
