NIGHT FALL Contemporary Art Seascape Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for additional information or to purchase. Laurie Yesterday I hit Lowe's for some new colors in the garden room. I am waiting for help from Morgan to put up new twinkle lights in there and slowly over the next few weeks I will begin decorating that room for the holidays. I wanted to get a large little decorative pine tree but I was in my Passat and it just wouldn't fit with all the other flowers. There is something rejuvenating about playing in dirt and re potting things to give them grow room. God's grace is abundant in our lives. Share yourself with someone today. Give with out someone knowing you gave. Work behind the scenes as God does in our lives. God continues on a daily basis to grace us all with His unconditional love and acceptance. Do you grace this to all those that cross your path? Grace is every gentle yet ever powerful in it enfol
PINK Contemporary Art Flower Gerbera Daisy by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Saturday and good morning! I have been contemplating the last 24 hours on today's thought and was up and down on it until just this morning. It is subject well covered by many over and over again, but I will do it as a reminder, and perhaps it is meant to just touch one person today, only God knows. Terry and I have possibly made some unwise choices with all our moves from house to house. Each one had a good reason at the time, but none of them were for us. We are always looking out after others and trying to do what is good for the family. We have lived in 10 different houses in the past 19 years. One of those was a five year stay, so you can only imagine about the others. The negative was the toll it took on our kids, but we stayed in two school districts with all moves. Friends never changed, nor did family. The positive is that Terry and I both realize how unimportant a bri
Mt Vernon Moos Contemporary Art Farm Cow Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD TGIF.... well for Terry it is not, but for the rest of the world it is. His TGIF is Sunday. It is strange living with this weird schedule and I am still not adjusted to it, but very thankful he has his job with American. He is at 21 years now. Thank goodness it's Friday. I remember this mantra from the seventies. Somewhere in there they came out with "Hump Day" being Wednesday. Gotta make it through Hump Day before you can get to TGIF. Our instinct is to focus on what is ahead. The instincts we had as children are based on emotions leading us like a compass due north. What did we need? We needed to be fed when we were hungry. We wanted to be held and feel safe and happy. As we grew out of the toddler years we wanted to feel needed and have jobs that came with independence. From that we found purpose and that we could please people and they were smiling at us. This basic navigation tr
UNEASY WEATHER Contemporary Art Abstract Palette Knife Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Energy. This painting is full of energy for sure. Are you full of it? Oliver Wendall Holmes said, "The mode in which the inevitable comes to pass it through effort." In one of the daily blurbs I received today, Neale Donald Walsch said, "While God is there to help us every step along the way, there is no free pass in life, and what occurs occurs as a result of the energy you give it." That is something to thing about. It covers all energies....mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. Where do you expend the most? Today be aware of where you put in the most effort in your life and then examine this evening the results of it. If you need to refocus tomorrow try putting energy into a different area. I believe today I will put my energy in to giving emotionally. We have a respite child with us for several days and it is important for me to allow the child access
HORSE WHISPERER Original Contemporary Art Impressionistic Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace The Owner of this painting lives in Virginia. She is preparing for downsizing in her life and contacted me that she wants to sell this original painting. It is 24 x 24 Oil on Canvas. Please email her if you are interested in this painting. NIKI This piece is soft impressionism and done with a wild brush and generous paint. I am still not adjusted to Day Light Savings Time. Between those government people and the IRS I share no love. I cannot figure this out because 100 percent of the people I visit with do NOT want DLS anymore. AND they do not want the IRS. It should be abolished and we should all pay national sales tax on what we buy. That way those that buy are taxed. You might say the wealthy will buy outside the country, but remember there are import taxes on things brought back in through customs. There has to be a better way. The next thing jumping around in my mind are the co
FACING THE SUN 2 Contemporary Art Palette Knife Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thickly applied 3D paint! Contact me for pricing: Laurie The storms continue to rage early this morning through north Texas and did so all through the previous night. I was up at six to let the dogs out and I gave Annie double on her meds as she has not slept all night long. She is curled in the corner of the studio hyperventilating right now. Paddy is asleep on his bed next to me. Lightening flashes continual outside the windows and the thunder rolls overlapping in loud roars, vibrating the lights overhead and the pictures on the walls. Storms are usually something that we think of that come quickly, blow hard and make their way through the area leaving either cooler weather or hot muggy weather here in Texas. Depends if the storms roll out of the north or the south from the the gulf. It is all part of that seasonal thing for constant change in motion. These storms are sor
Making Music Contemporary Art Portrait by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas COMMISSION SOLD Monday dawns with rain. I was actually up at four hustling the dogs outside. Our oldest dog has fear of storms and she makes messes everywhere, so the only way around that is to get her out to do her duty and then drug her. The drugs do not do much but I am hoping they are taking the edge off for her. But back to bed and here I am at 8:30 still in my pjs blogging. The storms outside remind of God's strength. We often opt not to rely on this comfort knowing He will protect and see us through anything in our lives. So as I have rain and winds today I will sit back and enjoy the fury of the storms and know He is at work. At work outside and at work in my life and yours. Grace, Laurie “God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.” Jo
NOVEMBER SKIES Contemporary Art Abstract Palette Knife Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase... this is one of my highly collected painted pony pulls. Laurie This painting pulls in every fall color you can imagine in the landscape right now. That is why I entitled it November Skies. Seems like the fall season magnifies the Lord's glory in living color that shouts to his glory, just to be quieted for the winter season of quiet cool colors. If you have time today, sit outside and soak in the beauty of fall. Even if it is cold, pull on a jacket and meditate while observing the changes the earth is taking on right now. The Lord put the seasons into rotation for a reason. Change is needed to provide new growth in the spring and the old must fall away, things must be dormant (or at least they appear this way) and in truth they are in the process of what lies ahead for new birth in the spring. Our lives are the same with the seaso
Gathering of Roses Contemporary Art Flowers, Roses Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Saturday morning finds me itching to paint so bad I almost did not blog. Music playing right now is: Arietta con Variazioni 5:29 Kelly Yost Kelly Yost - Piano Reflections: A Gentle Selection of Reflective Light Classics Classical This is some of my favorite music to paint by... classical piano. Survival. That seems to be a key word in today's world with the economy tanking. With all the negativity in the news and the job layoffs, rising grocery prices, housing prices dropping...it has to have an impact on everyone somewhere in their life. An African proverb talks of gazelles and when they awake in the morning they know they must always be ready to outrun the fastest lions or they will be eaten. AND every lion when it wakes up knows it has to outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. So it doesn't matter if ou are the gazelle or the lion, you hit i
In My Mind Contemporary Art Nude Oil Painting Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 inches of thick paint; See pictures below. Contact me for additional information or to purchase: Laurie Time for one of my few nudes I do every year. I probably paint four a year and it has been about five months since the last one! You will find very thick paint forming the planes on the body and of course my trademark color palette. I hesitated before blogging this morning praying about content and where my thoughts were to even start my day today. I truly feel we would be so much better off with out the television and the media. One of those love hate relationships we have. Sometimes we have a love hate relationship with in ourselves raging as well. God has so much planned and available for us to do in our lifetime and most of us never reach our potential. For some reason we live conditionally in our lives trying to stay in control and not trusting Him to be in control. Jesus has warned
Expressions Two Contemporary Art Abstract Palette Knife Horse Painting 24 x 24 Acrylic with Tar Gel SOLD ALREADY! Stay tuned for more! We are back safely from Mt. Vernon and a wonderful time. We had a fabulous time and yes a slide show below, but no music this time! I had so many pictures of the country and our trip and I had to limit them! BUT ENJOY! I will not be accompanying my mother and brother and sister-in-law to see my dad today for his real birthday. It feels strange as we have always celebrated together and my entire life this has been special to me, his birthday next to mine. My mom's car will only hold so many bodies and she invited her minister to go up, so I lost my seat. I will be there in spirit today missing him tremendously and again am humbled to know my place in the world. God is good and has his reasons for me to be home today and not there despite my sadness. I was awake last night with the storms moving through and realize how stuffy my head was from b
WILD WILLIE Contemporary Art Wild Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 16 x 20 inches Acrylic Overlays SOLD! THANKS SO MUCH! Today is a day to travel and visit friends and celebrate my birthday. We are off to Mt Vernon! So my blog is only a short note to remind you to give thanks. I am writing this at 6 this morning. Paul Fletcher is sheriff of Franklin County. YEAH!!!! He is who we are going to visit today. I spent twenty minutes online this morning trying to see who won the sheriff race there and since it is a small tiny place in Texas, this was not easy! ALSO thank you for my early morning wake up birthday song my dear friend up north! This is one of the FEW blogs I am doing ahead because we are leaving so early in the morning and I have no knowledge of election results or anything else. Our good friend is running for sheriff in his county and I do not even know how he is doing. What ever is now is part of a larger plan for God. TRUST and know all is well. I look forward to blog
