Flowers in My Room Flower Floral Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Inquiries: Laurie It will be a musical day today as I will begin prep this morning on several new musical pieces. Yesterday I finished this one and truly enjoyed painting every bit of it. It is a subdued color palette for me. Refreshingly different. Once someone ask me how I paint every day...they wanted to know how I come up with so many subjects to paint. Every morning when I wake I cannot wait to paint. I truly dislike all the computer related stuff, but I make myself blog before I get to play. I have learned to take more precautions and I always wear gloves now. Everything else is sheer energy as I soar through the process, music playing and paint flying. My constant inspiration is the Lord and His creation around me. He makes it easy. From each painting something is learned as I journey through the process. With movement on the canvas building the composition, it stays open to change as m
WITH ATTITUDE Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Inquiries: Laurie PAINT PAINT and I cannot wait. Mom and I were in here until after ten last night. I started her on her own painting. I did some washes on some canvas in preparation for today. I get to paint today! My house is screaming with dust, But I will clean it on FRIDAY!!! We took mom on a road trip yesterday at her request. We drove up to Bonham TX to look at the VA facility and the town. She kept saying it reminded her of Sherman TX. It is a pretty nice town and is closer to the Red River and Oklahoma. We toured the state Vet Nursing home. It was gorgeous... only 7 years old...filled with light and love and people working there that ENJOYED THEIR JOBS! Oh my gosh, what a difference. I could tell mom liked it because the walls were all painted green in the front area. In the Alzheimers unit they are soft blues. Colors are used to soothe and blue is a quieting color. What was neat, from the moment
Two in Thought Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches Acrylic on Canvas Inquiries: Laurie Terry's last day of vacation is today.... and then back to work. He will be doing a new schedule with more time off. We might actually get to travel more! YEAH!!! Sort of one of those do it all in three day weeks! Trading off with a partner to cover shifts over a two week period, he works one of his 40 hour periods at the beginning of the two week period and has six days off in the middle. Then he works 40 hours at the end. It is not bad if he can stay awake for the two very long days. I am definitely glad God doesn't take off for six days at a time in our lives. He works 24/7 and then some. Things would surely be a mess if he didn't. Some days seem dark, and they are in our family right now. My mom is recovering slowly from hospital visit number three, my dad is in respite care, Terry's family had a suicide two days ago, and then we found out one of his co-wo

Today is boxing and shipping day, almost back to a normal work week, but not there as I have not been painting. THAT is not good. I will be painting by tomorrow. The piece I posted is several years old and is owned by a collector in Virginia. She has at least 20 of my paintings. Divine order is the thought for today. Decisions in our lives seem to way lay us for days or weeks at at time. Sometimes it is fear of the unknown that keep us in that frozen position. It

WYOMING PAINT 2 Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Acrylic pulls on Canvas. Contact me for more information, mention title of painting. Laurie Saturday is here. I am suppose to be painting for my New York show in two weeks and I only have a few things ready. I will truly be working in studio all day today. Breakfast will be cold cereal. Mom and Terry are still in bed sleeping so I am trying to keep the house quiet. I have been experimenting with my dreaded acrylics trying to make friends with them. Both of the artists I showed with in Jackson use acrylic, so I decided to try it. I will have to go over to Asel Art today and get some more though. Morgan is coming, so I may have him stop for some supplies on his way. Saves gas and time that way. They move differently that the oils and are a bit more challenging. Renew today as you step out into the day. Know that you are alive and filled with the spirit. Treat yourself kindly, eat healthy and walk today. I will pra
RED DESERT HORSE Horse Abstract Art Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 x 2 inches Acrylic and Impasto on Canvas Contact me for information, include the name of the painting: Laurie Good morning... geez it is almost eight and I am just blogging. Mom is here at our house newly released from the hospital. It changes our schedule up a bit and we stay up later. Won't do that once Terry is back off vacation. So I slept in this morning, something my body is NOT accustomed to. We have had many things we are praying about in our lives. That sort of sent me off on the thought of the difference between the mind, the soul and the spirit. It started with the daily message I got from Donald Welsch commenting that "Life is about your soul, not about your body and not about your mind." He further commented that people work hard to keep their body happy and they enjoy stimulating their mind...the soul is the last thing they leave time for. Well, that started these wheels turning
PONIES Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 inches COMMISSION SOLD inquiries: Laurie Not really sure where the day went yesterday...but it disappeared and I was tired when I crawled into bed. We are hoping mom will be released from the hospital today. I am not sure, but believe she will come here to recover again. Times they are a changing. I know there is a song with those words. In our lives change is the only thing we can count on besides GOD. Change is happening every second. God is working in our lives as well. Nothing escapes his watch. Bad luck good luck.... I cannot go there except to use that as an expression because I believe it is all part of a greater plan. Unfortunately in our eyes, God often uses the best most innocent folks in ways to touch those of us that need to learn or grow. Often we have to wade through the situations to get to the other side. Patience is learned, we are strengthened through our trial and God continues to give us exactly what we
COOL WATER Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace I am truly not sure what is happening with the BLOG and images this morning as I have attempted to load an image four times and it does not seem to be here. Terry calls the BLOG the BLAB. His dad was over visiting yesterday dropping off TP's birthday card and we were catching up on things. Especially things that we were in the midst of.... Terry thinks I put everything in my blog/the blab, but I truly do not. I learned so much though yesterday it is a shame not to share it. My mom is doing better and we are hoping for her release from the hospital today. My dad enjoyed visiting her yesterday; Terry took him to get a much needed haircut and then we all met for lunch. Well, not all of us. Terry stopped to put FUEL in the car. Remember it is a diesel and takes fuel not gas. Well, Dad got out of the car at the station and was walking around and a pan handler walked up trying to get money off Dad and Terry. Terry is very over
WOLF PACK 24 x 36 inch Oil Painting Wolves by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD at the Show in Jackson. We are back! I have loaded a slide show of the trip! I am so happy to be safely home after two 12 hour days of driving. We were unable to stop very long inbetween so I could not blog. My mother was admitted back into the hospital early Sunday morning and we left immediately to return to Dallas. Everything that happens in life has a reason. Even when you think you have wasted your time. Even with the bad stuff. We never know the outcome of situations and the whys, but everything has a purpose and time passes and what is to come finally surfaces and we begin to slowly understand the why with the outcome. God has a plan, and although different from ours, we must stay steady with our faith and belief in Him. There is no waste of time...This is your life and every moment has a purpose. Life life to its fullest! Here are some pictures from the trip! Grace, Laurie "Then one of them, when h

Roses from my Garden Contemporary Floral Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Inquiries: Laurie This is the Day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Today is my dear mother's birthday. I tried to call a bit ago, but think she might still be asleep. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! The show went well last night. I sold three paintings that are paid for and two more that are to be paid for and picked up next week. I am happy as it covered the expenses for the trip with some left over! God is good! After the show we went to eat at a fabulous restaurant with the other two artists and spouses and the gallery owners, Rick and Hollee Armstrong. Rick and Hollee are such a strong duo both in their marriage, their family, their business and their lives as a whole. It was a treat to see them work together as the show came together and happened. Nocona Burgess and his wife, Danielle were in from Santa Fe and Carol Spielman and her husband Jim were in from Billings
