MOONLIGHT Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Contact me to purchase: Laurie I began a moonlight series yesterday very taken by the gray violet paint I had in my chest. I started a second one to finish today. It spoke to my heart of mystery and things in the dark that we cannot see, of unexpected pleasures and hidden pain. Our path can only be lit by the moonlight. We all travel into the night in our experiences pulled by others into the dark and it is up to us to bring the ray of light of the Lord with us. In our lives every day we have endless opportunity to bring light and love into the lives of those around us. I have a friend that lives very far from me and she is like a sister. Her wisdom is accountable and reliable; her love is unmistakable. She brings light into my life daily. Can you carry some light to someone today? This morning I have a "blind date". I use that term loosely. I have a woman from the neighborhood coming to paint. We have

Where else can you have a job that you get to play in color?? That I do love and give thanks for the gift. Hummm, it must be Thursday. No heat; haven't had heat since yesterday morning when I was minding my own business and the plumber knocked on the door. They were coming to purge the lines for the city inspection. It was after lunch when the inspector came. The gas repair passed (Yeah we can fill the 8 ft by 2 ft hole in the yard) and the new heater passed as well. The plumber returned late last night to try and unstop our plu
WEST LINE HORIZON Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace Contact Wendy Rogers at THE RED TREE GALLERY California for pricing. Wednesday, is there a song about that? Other than the old saying of HUMP DAY and getting through it for the slide down to Friday, I can't think of anything. The painting I have listed is available through The Red Tree Gallery in California. It ships there this next week along with some other pieces I am working on right now. Such an exciting time as a new gallery opens it's door. I am honored to be a part of this and give my thanks both to the Rogers as well as to our Father for the gift of art. There are so many things in life we strive for and many things we cannot seem to get that we want. I am not addressing the physical, but rather the spiritual. If you are down and seeking happiness, the key is to act happy. Put a smile on your face and look in the mirror to see it. Do this over and over and you will find your life begins to pick up hope
First Poppies Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 15 X 30 inches SOLD The wind is howling outside this morning. Our 90 degree temps are back in the thirties. Only in Texas! I saw some poppies in a garden this week and that prompted a fun painting of their brilliance. Yesterday Terry and I finished up replanting and re potting the garden room. We had purchased new pots for our roses that we brought from the country as well as his mother's rose that we have nurtured along. I will have to take pictures and share them this week. It is nice in there, a very peaceful retreat. The roses and azealas will thrive in their new soil. Re potting is a thought to consider for us today. Often as a plant grows older and there has been no weekly maintenance to feed and nourish it, it begins to get yellow leaves and even shriveled leaves. I feel that applies to us as well. We stumble along in life often neglecting our connection that is wide open with God. He waits so patiently to lend his ea
Canyon Spirit Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches of abstract colors and a dashing horse! SOLD The sun is up and the birds are in full chorus outside...it is a wonderful day. This is the day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Todays painting is an exploration of another approach to the canvas. If it calls to you email me for a good price! Exploring in life is always a must. God is really good about closing doors. We must use our wisdom gained through our life experiences to be wise and find an open window. Yesterday morning I went to my parents house and fixed breakfast. It was a treasured time to share a meal with them. God is good! After eating mom sent dad into shower and we sat and visited. She has been seeking direction on several issues in her life that involved changes. Major changes. She sat back and said, "I guess I will wait until God knocks me upside the head." I sat forward and yelped "NO". I have bee
REFLECTIONS Two Oil by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches On Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Joy to joy this is the day that the Lord hath made! Up to paint early and then get cleaned up for the day. I have been working on pieces for several new galleries. One is The Red Tree Gallery in California, opened by Wendy Rogers and her artist husband Ronald Ray Rogers . I am excited about this new adventure and anticipate a positive experience! Also was contacted by two other galleries, The Rain Bird Gallery in Blanco, Texas and a new gallery being put together in Dover Massachusetts. As soon as I have links on the others I will share them. I think it is exciting to start out with a new gallery as they open their doors. The Blano Gallery has been around for a long time but the other two are brand new. The Dover Gallery supports children with special needs and a portion of every sale benefits charity. This is a tug to my heart after loosing our eldest grandson a year ago on the 27th of this mon
WINTER LIGHT Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 24 X 36 inches of color! Contact me for pricing: Laurie There is always that one winter day that the sunlight seems brighter and warmth begins to creep into the air, just slightly in the mid-afternoon hours. That is what this painting was trying to capture...that crystallized moment of warmth and coolness together. Our lives are like that too. In those times when it is cold and dark....we focus on a beam of light to guide us back into the sunlight. For many living in the dark for a long time, they grow accustomed to their dark environment. When that beam of light hits into their lives, they often turn away because the truth of the light casting open the reality around them hurts. First reaction is to turn away and close their eyes. They do not want to face what it is there. It is so much easier to hide from it in the dark. They turn from the light of the Lord and the warmth of his love. I wish I knew the answer, if I did I wo
TRAVEL TO GREENER GRASS Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Friday has not dawned by sun time but it has by the clock. I worked until after nine last night painting and will be jumping back in front of the easel in a few moments. I noted it is difficult to ever catch up or get ahead. Strange that I chose to post this painting today...traveling to greener grass....chasing the elusive and missing what is right there in front of you. Living in the moment is the key here. There is no catching up or getting ahead with God. That was part of my thought process this morning around one as the phone rang waking us up. As we settled back down to try to sleep again I realized this moment is the most important moment. It could be the beginning moment, the middle moment or an ending moment....but it is the moment of truth of being and being with the Lord in your heart and soul is the ultimate. In my heart as I laid there listening to the quiet of th
CRAB APPLE TREE BLOOMS Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches, Oil on Canvas SOLD Wow, yesterday was an active painting day! This is one I finished up and I love painting Texas Oaks, but in the spring, the Crab Trees bloom with beautiful pink blooms. This is my impression of the crab tree in bloom. Even Crab Trees do more than "Crab". This can be said about people too. I know everyone has one of those in their lives. The complainer. They are always complaining about everything. We often grow weary of being around them and make excuses not to be. In actuality you might find if you give some attention and demonstrate a happier more positive attitude around them you might see them relax. Dig around and smile at them and offer up a true compliment to them. My hunch is folks like this are unhappy inside and the only blooms that come out are negative blooms and thoughts. Perhaps with a little prayer and some TLC you could bring some light and love into their lives.

FLORIDA RUN OSWOA Horse Art by Laurie Justus Pace 4 x 6 inches of massive thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase. Laurie The sun is up and so am I. Terry is still asleep. I will be rushing to finish to finish up paperwork for shipping today. I think we will have to rewire the house. We still do not have working lights despite another electrician visiting the premises. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. We got heat and hot water but the lights are gone! Thank goodness the plugs all work. Today look around you at the people you see every day. Be kind to them, give preference to their needs if you can and show a true honor in friendship. God has placed them in your life for a reason. Sometimes we miss things that are right before our eyes. Grace, Laurie "Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." Philippians 2:4
Anticipation Color Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches SOLD Celebrate the day! Here in Dallas it is going to be sixty degrees today with sunshine.... beautiful sunshine. The house is warm, the water is hot, still no lights, but we are working on it. Terry is busy sealing shut the floor return vents from the old unit. There is so much dust being pulled from those when the new system works that the dust literally flies. Yesterday Trina and her two children stopped by to visit. I had such a good time visiting with them. I miss painting with Trina. She normally use to come paint every Thursday morning. With me moving all the way into Dallas, I haven't seen her since last fall. The kids are growing like weeds! Kiern and I played several games of Chinese Checkers. Jency collected marbles and rocks and enjoyed just running around close by. Such beautiful children!!! My internet is up. This is late posting because of the inadequacy of Time Warner Cable. We had no
