West by Northwest God is always there

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 West by Northwest Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Good morning. .. the hurricane has left Texas and we had only a sprinkle of rain and some wind. Praying for all friends and family that have been affected by the hurricane through storms and loss of power. West by Northwest was an investigative painting and when I did this back in 2014, I truly did not know what would come out of it until it presented itself DONE!  As true to my nature 99% of the time there is an odd number of horses as well as my odd chest into leg area on the white horse. I had this 'thing' about hearts and horses back then.  No more.  The magic here for me is the layers of color and light and horses... almost like an early morning fog and you can see them but not make out the things around them. Some horse paintings are more magical than others! Enjoy.  This morning in Streams of the Desert , the Bible verse and story were delivered at this day for

Wild Things and Wild Times

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Wild Thing 30 x 40  Oils on Canvas IN PROCESS Available when complete  by Laurie Pace   This is a larger painting and I am taking it slowly with steps. Took two days to draw out and plan from an older sketch.  NOT actually in correct form. It was a loose sketch but I decided I wanted to go with it. Life and People are never perfect... it is the moment, the mind and and where you are in life.  I will post more as I work on it. This was two days in drawing and 2 days doing the first glazing layers.  My Sketch Thoughts for Today My Biblical share today is from Countryside Bible Church from our Pastor, who is three weeks out of his heart stopping. He told us today only 5 percent of people that experience this survive.  God is not finished with him yet...for sure.  He led us to read Psalm 116.  As I read it with him I wondered why I had not read this Psalm enough to remember it was here. I am guessing you have not either.

Rocky Mountain Herd Buffalo Run

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Rocky Mountain Herd Sold  30 x 40  Oils on Canvas    by Laurie Pace   Do I remember this painting?   YES!! I had FUN painting it. Buffalo Run and total fun.  Compared to my other buffalo pieces, this has motion. It Rocks!!!   My favorite Buffalo painting!  As I step back into painting I see authentic motion and not a ' pretty painting' necessarily.  This piece went to Mirada Fine Art in Colorado, but Steve Sonnen, the owner, did not think it would sell.  It did. It did right away at the show I painted it for! It actually makes me want to start one right now.... I do not think I have enough paint, but it might be worth finding out! Layers of color and overlays create this entire painting, keeping a tiny part of the realism and loosing to abstract shapes throughout. This type of work brings joy to me as the painter and to you and your home. It has power in the paint, celebrating freedom and life.  "As we

Warm with the Sunrise... God's Promise

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Warm with the Sunrise 18 x 27 Oils on Canvas Just finished this morning! 👉   Available    by Laurie Pace   It has been two years since I painted something over the size of 11 x 14. Usually it was 8 x 10 and I can count on one hand how many of those I painted.  This pretty horse was painted over the last 8-10 days including the drawing, redrawing and contemplation and painting and more painting!  As you know it has been almost 2 full years since I have been actively painting or blogging even. With the illness and death of my mom and my own injury to my right arm, and then a family member struggling... we have been traveling a season that has strengthened our faith. The great sisters in Women Artists of the West , have been a huge healing power in me the last few months. The board members have walked this path with me sharing their times of family death, life challenges, and it made me realize it was time to paint again.  I am thi

Evening Shadows... where the Stars Appear... Horses

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Evening Shadows where the Stars Appear SOLD  by Laurie Pace   This was a favorite painting in my Black and White series.  I do not have a hanging photo of this one, but this one pictured below was one painted a few months later and sold from my OKC Gallery Kasum Contemporary.  It closed its doors over the covid times.  This horse series was one of the collectors favorites.  Using Black and White blended and separate throughout the painting, and accenting with different colors and shapes... each was unique and loved.  Horse Paintings with a contemporary twist of theme. 1 John 4:12  " G od's love allows humanity to "see" Him through the actions of His people. " No one today has seen God at any time. If we love one another,  God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. We experience this as we see and complete love through actions.  But has any one ever seen God?  Moses did.  Exodus 33
