This painting is about the end of those LONG HOT summer days that lasted through the middle of September for us in north Texas. It was not just HOT it was DANG HOT.   The painting holds the fresh bliss of that new sunrise in September. It has a softness to it. It is beautiful.  This is from Sunday Morning around 7:30.  Does not get much prettier waking up to the soft autumn sky.  Can you see...

Nothing stimulates our appetite for the simple joys of life more than the starvation caused by sadness or desperation. In order to complete our amazing life journey successfully, it is vital that we turn each and every dark tear into a pearl of wisdom, and find the blessing in every curse. ” ― Anthon St. Maarten, Divine Living: The Essential Guide To Your True Destiny  The Truth of Experience It was about 20 plus years ago that I came to the realization that you cannot appreciate love if you do not experience hate. You cannot appreciate joy unless you know sa...

Cesare Pavese I was on the treadmill this morning watching part of a movie doing my 3 miles.  This quote was in the movie and it stuck with me. There are some days I remember, but truly only because of moments in that day.  I remember vivid moments of securing my first job at age 16.  I saw an ad in the Sunday Dallas Morning News by Neiman Marcus hiring an artist's model. Back in that time they hand drew the ads using people wearing the clothes.  Personally I like it better than today.  I was hired and I worked there that summer and all through my Senior year in high school... I took one morning class and hoped a bus to downtown Dallas.  The time I remember it happening but the memory is the ad that I cut out...

I believe the drought of summer 2022, has been one of the worst we have experienced in our lifetime. Yesterday, for the first time in two months, temperatures fell below 100 and it rained.  It actually stormed. Terry and I had left the house to travel to Keller Texas, to Bear Creek Running Co . We are planning on walking the dogs as temps drops, and I needed new shoes.  I drove us in BlueBird (My new car) home in strong winds and torrential rains with thunder and lightening. While I wish I had flowers to be worried about, we struggled this summer to water the grass and all of our trees.  We had nine trees but the weather last year took out a 20 yr old red oak. It left a huge vacancy in our back yard. My hope is to break away from...

Yesterday I was doing Saturday morning pick up and was carrying some books into my bedroom and I heard the word "USE". I looked at the stack of books I had collected to move and it was the Torah, the Chumash and two Bibles.  When I read and study them, I usually compare passages and cross reference things.  I believe God was making a point of giving this word to me for many reasons that will reveal themselves over the course of time. The immediate thought was over those books first.  I usually read in my Bible in the evenings and spend 45 minutes to an hour in study with them.  Use it....your Bible or your Torah. Spend time during the day with the Lord. Later in the day, I pulled out two large cloth containers with quilts in them. Some were family quilts and some were Ebay quilts I bought...
