When you paint you must not be faint of heart. It is from the stepping up on the ladder that you begin to realize what is outside of the box.  Usually when I get to this point I scrape the painting and that may happen by tomorrow...I am still deciding if I like it or not. We have buried parents, good friends and a grandchild that was only 11. They could fix anything in our little world and make it better.   I struggle in today's world with hurt, devastation and emotionally battles in several areas.  I buck up and try to be strong.  I make my lists.  I pray.  I work harder and harder.  It does not help.  I am totally in the wrong direction or I would not still be dealing with the issues. The Thought:  Another day of collisions... The wind yesterday was about 25-30 knots this morning and I was not wanting to go out and as we were putting up the sails I suggested Terry take the boat out alone.   This was not one of my best suggestions as I watched him struggle turning it around in the cove with the flaky winds churning three different directions.  The first time the boat rammed into a tree with the mast. That was not good on his body as he threw himself trying to hold onto it and messed up his leg trapping it between the boat rudders (Darn those rudders) and the shore.  He continued oblivious of the pain he was in and he struggled on board trying to row out with out me helping.  He yelled up, "I can't do this alone."  and I yelled back, "Don'

As soon as I touched it up, someone emailed that it was what they wanted and so as soon as it is dry, it heads to the coast to live. The Thought :  What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?  Do you yawn and stretch? I was up at six to let the dogs out and I gave Annie double on her meds as she has not slept all night long. She is curled in the corner of the studio hyperventilating right now. Paddy is asleep on his bed next to me. Lightening flashes continual outside the windows and the thunder rolls overlapping in loud roars, vibrating the lights overhead and the pictures on the walls. Storms are usually something that we think of that come quickly, blow hard and make their way through the area leaving either cooler weather or hot muggy weather here in Texas. Laurie Repainting, Rebuilding, recapturing. I repainted this one to bring out more color. This happens when things hang around the studio. In life I think we should constantly be growing changing and building. Sometimes we have to back up and rebuild. I am not sure how to explain where my brain is today, but I can almost feel it. Be it things in your life you have neglected or ignored, or people that you have neglected or ignored...now is the time to repair and rebuild a stronger situation or better relationship. When I have a painting that has so much potential and it hangs around here and I continue to see it, suddenly one day I know what has to be done and I begin repainting. So today look around you and see what needs to be taken on that needs repair, things, places, people, relationships etc.
