"We have reverse weather in north Texas. Jan and Feb are usually our coldest months where we get winter normally in the 40s and 50s.  It is going to be in the eighties today.  I pulled a painting from my archive to share. Back in 2004-2010 I painted a handful of these, of which two were commissions that were larger.  There is something settling doing a landscape/seascape and tying in a sunrise or sunset.    I am sipping hot tea trying to clear the morning fog out of my head with the pressure of reversed fronts out of the south. Do not believe I will be painting today.  Think it is a curl up and read a book and sit outside around noon in the 80 degrees! "This was a journey I enjoyed. From a tulip photo I took in my kitchen about 10 years ago... I tried looking at it and dissect it into a "pop" feeling to it. The creativity part was relaxing and the final touch ups very rewarding!  The background is my favorite blue on the right side. The underlay of the painting had a soft bright orange that comes through near the bottom. Hope it calls to a heart for a new home! Makes me want to party! "  Changing Directions I remember my father-in-law and his wonderful sense of humor.  I only saw him angry twice, the rest of the time he wore a smile as big as Texas and it made his eye wrinkle up and smile at the same time.  His favorite saying was,  "He can get glad just like he got mad."   Ben Pace did n

"Yes, I fell off the posting wagon... but for good reason. There was a computer glitch and I LOST three of the blogs I had written. Then the weekend hit and I gave up till today, Monday!  The painting above was done about two years ago and within an hour of posting it on my website, it sold and headed to Austin, Texas.   I will be painting over the next weeks.  Mirada Fine Art, my Denver gallery since 2010,  has a new show coming up. Details will follow as they release the information to the public. Time to shake things up for sure!. Happy New Year...Behold the journey ahead!" "The lush lemon yellow and the tender green shoots of green remind us that spring is ahead.  I continued to work on this painting taking it apart and loosening the structure of the Iris. Reminds me of light bouncing off the petals as they protect the inner delicacy in the center of the bloom.   This painting is available at the time of this post release. You can click through on the painting itself." The rising sun comes daily to us and in the winter, the contrast with blues and whites always reflects the gentle side of soft snow and brilliant sun between the darkness of the trees.  Behold there is light with God's covenant.  I believe this January shows us much like the photo of the sun rising in the forest.

When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions, they challenge you to change.  Proof in the pudding by the end of January, 93 percent of us set New Year’s goals but maybe 20% of us keep them past February, according to the American Psychological Association .   Many of us are not good “keepers of goals.” It is not hard to walk away when there are too many of them to attempt to keep as a resolut
