Through the Mist Equine Horse Western Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 x 2 inches Contact me for information and mention the title of the painting: Laurie Leg cramps are driving me crazy at night again. I need to increase my potassium and I need to figure out what it is I am doing that is setting it up. The entire time we were in NY I never had one leg cramp...so do I stop painting? Either has to be the expensive ergonomic chair I sit in or the standing the rest of the day on the brick floors. If you have a clue, let me know! I told Terry that this was my quest over the next few days to solve this mystery so I could sleep through the night with out the sudden cramping pain. On another level I know God is trying to tell me something and if I don't figure it out something worse will happen. So this is my quest. Being spiritual aware of His presence in my life, I know there are things before me I simply do not see. Transformations take place and we stay ignorant o
Power of Red Horse Art Abstract Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Available at Patina of Marble Falls Contact: John or Marnie Waking up with a massive sinus headache is not my favorite. Unfortunately for many of us living in the DFW area this is common for this time of the year. The ozone levels are level RED which is really really bad. Terry and I were out in it yesterday. We went to Cavanaugh's Flight Museum in Addison. (north Dallas) Sun and wind proved to leave me in bad shape so today will be a dull ache day. Before the Museum we had lunch at Margiano's where Morgan works. The Halibut was fabulous and something I wish they would carry on the main menu. WOW! I have been working on small pieces for the Dutch Art Gallery Show. Several small 8 x 10's and a 9 x 12. Today I will do a larger piece and they we may print some giclees. I had hopes of a few days off, but with all the shows I do not think this is going to happen. Terry mentioned helping me w

I am going to blog and the work on pieces for my show here in Dallas at the DUTCH ART GALLERY. I am hoping all of you that live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area will come and see me at the show. It is Sept 12th. More info to follow. Terry and I have been in pretty deep prayer over two major things in our life. We are either not quiet enough and listening, or we are overlooking something God has left for us to discover. Terry has one day left to decide if he is going to take a retirement offer of early retirement from American Airlines or gamble on continuing to work for the company. Of course in his heart he wants to keep working. We do not have enough set back to actually retire right now. Please continue to stand with us on prayer right now. One day we will look back at this time and will know how things played ou
Hidden in the Light Deer Wildlife Buck Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches oil on canvas Contact: Laurie We are in Marble Falls Texas. We drove down yesterday to Blanco Texas to the Rain Bird Gallery that has some of my work. I picked up a few pieces from there to bring to Patina here in Marble Falls. John and Marnie Stange are UNBELIEVABLE folks. If you live in the Austin or San Antonio area, or even Waco, Temple, Dallas or Houston...it is worth the drive to see this fabulous shop. I thought no gallery could top the incredible feeling of creativity, beauty and fullness of Earth Works in New York, but Patina does this. I have a show here at Patina October 10-11th and will be returning home with many ideas on what to paint. The following weekend is The Rain Bird Gallery's Anniversary Show of the opening of the gallery. I will do a special painting for them as well. I need to update my website because there is a show in Dallas on September 12th at the Dutch Art Gal

FREE RUN Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for pricing: Laurie As an artist sometimes I can get really frustrated. Every artist wants to paint that WOW picture that signals achievement, growth and reward; to find they have arrived. My frustration is not painting that picture but on occasion refocusing my moment to be exactly that, IN THE MOMENT. Painting is an exploration of color, design, balance, composition form, shape etc. so it is a new adventure with every canvas. There are days you do not want to paint. There are days that you have so much to do around they house and you want to paint. Each day the importance right now is to focus on Him first. I take the time to center myself before starting my day in the studio. Often doing this blog will begin this process. Dreams and goals are good for everyone. We would lose hope with out dreams and goals and life would be endless pain with out them. The point I
Blue Desert Horse Abstract Horse by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Acrylic on Canvas Contact: Laurie Yesterday I wrote about Liddle, the Scottish runner from the Paris Olympics years ago...After the Olympics were over he followed his Christian background and retraced his parents journey becoming a missionary in China. At that time WW II was in full force and he ended up in a concentration camp in China with a large number of children from the school and teachers. Thankfully he had sent his wife and children home to Canada just before he was imprisoned. He and the other teachers kept the children in the camp focused and busy. It was reported that the children knew no harm or depression from this incarceration because of Liddle and the other teachers. They continued to teach and guide the children through well planned days including worship, song and pray. He had them praying for the Japanese every morning quoting the bible that we must pray for our enemies and we must forgive th
White Ahead Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 Oil on Canvas contact: Laurie Lord, give me the strength and the wisdom to walk through this day; to go where you will lead me; to embrace it and give it my all. The birthday party for Jon was yesterday, but my camera was here. I am waiting for pictures from Jan and Justin to use on the blog. In the past NO ONE has ever remembered to send me pictures so I am not confident on this at all. Mom and Dad traveled out to Roanoke with Terry and I. It was a fast afternoon; the food was great (Justin grilled) and the company of family quite enjoyable! Stacey and Larry have one of those great big media rooms. We really need to start having family Sunday at the movies. I tried to get her to do that when we lived out there...but things get in the way. We really have to watch that in our lives. I fully believe we are missing some of the journey the Lord has for us because things get in the way. We have such will and power that we ba

FAST EDDIE Dog Portrait Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches SOLD Commission Painting Contact: Laurie Yes, I painted in New York. I painted Billie's Dog, Fast Eddie. My laptop has the pictures of Fast Eddie on it, but I have not in my bleary state of mind, transfered the pictures from the laptop to the Big Mac. These were still in the camera from our Wednesday Night Barbecue and Fire at Billie's home on Lake Juanita. Slightly tempered in paint choices, I used her oils and canvas to capture the look of her "child" Fast Eddie. He is quite a character. He does not like ANY men. He took exception to Terry once they got level on the floor and played. Terry is like the dog whisperer, he had Eddie totally in love before ten minutes passed. I painted out on Billie's deck, where deer run through the yards as well as bunnies and stray kitty cats. Mom snapped this picture of Billie and I as I finished Fast Eddies portrait. Terry is in the background m
Paint Ponies Three Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact Laurie Once again from the Daily Word : Grace I meet each day knowing that good awaits me. Grace is the outpouring of God's good. Because God is, goodness exists. I cannot earn it. I cannot make it happen. I cannot escape it. Because I am one with God, my life is filled with blessings. However, if ever I'm having difficulty seeing good in my life, I turn to favorite scriptures such as "All things work together for good for those who love God" or "My grace is sufficient for you." The assurance that God is always with me and that God is all good, all the time, is the comfort I need to keep my faith strong so that I meet each day with courage. I give thanks for my good. And with each word of thanksgiving, my faith grows. As my faith grows, troubles shrink to unimportance, and I look on the bright side of life where even greater good awaits me. "You

I think that Mom is coming home tomorrow. Blessings - Stacey Energetic Divine life energizes and strengthens me. Throughout the day, I need nourishment in order to continue to focus my mind and energize my body. This physical nourishment enables me to carry out all that needs to be done by me. I need spiritual nourishment also. Turning within in moments of prayer, I connect with the God-life flowing throughout my body, energizing and strengthening me. At any time thereafter, I can pause, take a deep breath, and realize the energizing effect of affirming the life of God that is my true nature. While I may feel the effects of the day's activities in my muscles or realize that I am becoming tired, I know that divine life is unlimited. I am strong, vigorous, vibrant, and healthy through the activity of the life of God wi
