I am late posting today and probably will miss posting tomorrow...but you never know. Much is happening and we are in and out of Dallas.   Today is another bruiser day of 105 degrees outside. I breaks records all the way back to 1930 they say.  Never been this hot this long and I think it puts our area way over 80 plus days of 100 plus temperatures.  A small cool front is due through for a bit more relief. I had jumped in with cooler weather and started walking up to four or five miles and I obviously injured my body doing it too quickly...so as the cooler weather does come, go easy as you begin walking again if you are in Texas. Terry spent the morning watering all the vegetation out back to make it through

When we stopped by to see my Mom this past weekend she reminded me of something... with the let go and let God.  What about the times you are so lost or caught in illness or pain that you cannot get there rationally?             It does h

May God's grace bless you and yours on this day.  Laurie “Even to your old age and gray

From the moment we decide to get out of bed until we fall back into bed that night... we make decisions one after the other.  Sometimes you might question a decision you have made and realize from fall out that perhaps you might have chosen unwisely.  Immediately it is wise to make amends with those affected and with God in order to move forward in life. Is it possible to learn to make better choices now and in your future? We all have an inner voice that responds to things immediately. Usually that fi

I bet you have a favorite pair of pajamas that make your world all better too.  Eventually Lady L will learn to venture into this challenging world with out her blanket at her

I have heard it my entire life. When someone says it enough it begins to creep into your every day life.  Literally throw up your hands when you are frustrated and let go and let God. Another beautiful morning of blue skies and clouds and thankfully no smoke. Yesterday was  a day with backed up smoke from the forest fires south of us. Even last night as I took the dogs out at ten the air smelled and tasted of wood burning fires.     Is it let go and let God here too?  Yes it is. His plan is not my plan, and His way is not my way.  I have learned that many times over again.  He will care for us just as

Those seconds make minutes and those add up to days, months and years.  Moments can be filled with joy or sorrow, peace or chaos, but through it all despite discontentment or circumstance I must trust that God's hand is in everything.  I have to turn to Him.  Truly making a day would be impossible with out His presence in our lives. Some days are harder than others when the situations involve those I love and I feel so helpless to meeting their needs. I have to remind myself, only God can meet those needs not me.  In the depths of 'hell' the only source for good and light is the Father.  You will find if y

Terry and I debated if we could chose just rain or cooler temps what would it be...and we both said rain.  God didn't agree so He sent cooler temperatures. It was the perfect morning for an early walk. When cold fronts come through the sky is very blue . His gentle touch of wispy clouds gave the feeling of lightness  as they floated in the early morning sky.  Within in hours we saw a hurricane to our eastern state and knew a cold front was coming our way. It meant no rain for us, but we will enjoy the cool mornings this week.  We watched as the rain disappeared off the radar...only 70 miles from us...close but not close enough.
