I just didn't shoot tight pictures and the painting is too wet to try and shoot until maybe tomorrow. I can't move it yet.  So the day yesterday started out better than I had hoped.  I believe yours can go well today too if you begin to realize God is the source, the only source. If you truly believe in this, there are no limits to what you can overcome in your life or what you can accomplish.  Yes you can get off the treadmill or out of the squirrel cage you are running in circles in. I should be in the shower right now and painting after that, but I am here blogging.  How many missed opportunities are there while I am running in circles?   Sometimes in life we have to let go and release things that no longer serve us.  Only then will we find balance and restoration with in our own lives.  You cannot see those opportunities if you are running in circles making dust all around you... I rarely read forwards, but this one came from Vicki and I clicked on it to read.  After I finished it, I knew it would be my blog this morning. It so applies to everything I have been writing about...self acceptance.    An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots. Each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.  One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.  At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.  But the poo

It was used for the  videography that Ken was here shooting last week.   It is the thread that ties the process together... from my walks, to  my photos and my collection of objects from nature... all the way back to the studio. It is a gallery wrapped watercolor canvas and it will be fixed and sprayed with a light varnish seal. It rained here today. It actually rained for four hours straight. This was so much fun to do and it is one I will always remember.  Emma and I have traded paintings of our own last year. This year I was able to paint this soccer painting for her family. Our TV carrier has been out. We have one of those dishes on the roof. I am not big on TV so I have not missed it, but Terry is suffering.  If we did not have internet with NETFLIX on demand I think he would  have moved us to a hotel by now. There are over 75 international artists participating in the feature.   Meanwhile yesterday Ken Vaughan, the videographer/photographer departed late afternoon. We spent most of the morning going through voiceovers and retaping certain segments.  I am looking forward and cringing at the same time to see what he comes up with.  The most difficult to imagine is just seeing myself. I was a professional model for 25 years.  Beanstalk thin at 5 ft 9 inches and 115 lbs...all the way to age 52 or 53.  No longer. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     This one almost made me cry.  I took off in one direction determined to paint something a certain way...sort of like that nude in 2006 that turned into the first running group of ponies... and as I finished this painting I walked away from it disgusted and not liking what was there.  I returned in the morning to the easel and began pulling the paint and it was startling to see the brilliance on the far left corner fading into the vivid reds on the left bottom... and then how magically the wood appeared behind on the top center and right top... and green on the lower right... and then the horses began to appear. Target makes her SMILE! We enjoyed seeing her in her OU tutu during the game on Saturday and then in long sleeves for the cooler weather on Sunday.  Terry and I left around noon to drive back. Stacey has to send me photos I took with her camera. When we tried to leave on Saturday, we pulled out of the driveway and back six times, so the seventh back out... we took off and I remembered the camera about 15 miles away and we did not turn back. I am up and ready to hit the studio again this morning to finish up some work started yesterday. I was sorting mail when I came across a 10% off shopping pass from Dillards.  Wonder what it would be like to get  a "Heavenly Pass"?   Perhaps it would work like this:  * Spend one hour in prayer = 2 points of God's rewards earned. * Spend one hour serving food at the soup kitchen = 2 points of God's rewards earned. * Spend one hour working with homeless women helping them retool to live a better life-= 2 points of God's rewards earned.  Track your progress in a daily journal and use your Heavenly Pass wisely giving to others.
