MAGIC MOMENT 18 x 27 inches Acrylic on Gallery Wrap Canvas Commission Painting A Painting a Day Well, this is a hugely busy time for me with the late shipments to Earth Works for the Show opening this weekend, but I had a request for a commission painting. It started with talk of a small 8 x 10 and after we visited and I saw the photos I suggested the Pop Art approach... and here it is! Finished in time for their anniversary next week and I will be shipping it immediately! I still want to do a small panel of them kissing ....but the photo that was sent was really blurry...but I am hoping I hit it close enough. All in shades of grays, with touches of flesh and crimson tones for accents. Unusual and pretty cool. Today is Terry's birthday. Not sure what the day will hold. He is still asleep. I was up early to finish this painting...and now I get a two to three day break from the studio...will try and post paintings that I have been working on for Wyoming. As I am taking a break,
MORNING ROLL 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Whew, when I started this painting I began with the golds and worked counter clockwise into green, midnight blues, purples and then to the reds.... I stepped back and thought " ICK" but began working on the horse still not sure of what colors would make up this rolling baby in the morning light! The colors began building as I went and slowly as I added more and more it worked into the vivid background, all of it alive with action and color. It takes a daring person to love this one, but hopefully it will touch a heart! Yesterday we went back into Dallas to order glasses. I couldn't decide, so I bought two pair. My sunglasses I used my old Maui Jim frames that I LOVE ~ but the new ones...geez one is a frame maker called facetoface I think and they have plaid sides going over the ears and square rectangles in the front. The second pair is tortoise like pattern in PURPLE!!!!! The eyes are shapes like the act
SINGLE ROSE 4 x 6 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Good morning! Sunshine and heat creeping in here...but understand it is miserable across the nation. This is a small rose that was fun and relaxing to paint to loosen up before doing a large painting. Rich colors and contrast playing the red against the green. Contact me if you are interested! Thought wise, much is bouncing in my head. As we were sitting at the eye doc yesterday I picked up a magazine and was browsing the pages. There was an article about a writer that had interviewed many older adults about special times they could remember in life. The adults that told of a wonderful happening but then interjected something horrible attached to it that disrupted the joy of the event and then left the story at a low point were most likely to be adults with depression and mood issues. The other group that stood out were the adults that told of a joyous occasion that might have emerged OUT of a negative thing...so their stories
Light of the Paints 22 X 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD A Hand signed and embellished giclee is available...contact me! This is the larger painting I did from the study painting of the single painted pony. Still feel there are areas I would do differently. I have been corresponding with Don Barnes ( CLICK HERE FOR HIS WEBSITE) and his emails area pushing me more toward painting smaller...while I think I am pushing him larger! My hang up is color, gee can you tell. Color is a passion with me and I cannot seem to help it! Color seems to carry vibrations and energy and I want that in my paintings. I am up rather early, Terry is sound asleep...I was awaken by the train this morning, or should I say TRAINS! My mind kept churning and thinking preparing for the canvas, so I gave up and got up! No phone ringing, no dogs under my feet....I can just paint with out interruption. Are you taking the time to take care of yourself and your needs? Remember God created you too..
Light of the Paint 8 x 10 x 2 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD This is a trial painting of one I will do larger. I want to establish the colors I use as well as the setting of the horse on the surface. From these studies I can see what I have to work with. I am debating a larger scene with another horse to the left. Will be sketching out the ideas later today after working with MR PRINTER. Mega thanks to Peter Togel for helping me with this monster. It is printing but I think we are running on a cable that is too long. Too complicated to explain, but I have to pack up my dining room to move my computer in to where the printer is, it is HUGE and cannot make it around the corners to get to the room I paint and work in. Yesterday I painted all day...the sun was out and Brendan came to mow. It will be sunny again today and hot, which is what is normal for July. This next week is Mom's birthday and Terry's birthday. After that is Conni Tögel's and Lanie's birth
IRIS Back Yard Blooms 11 x 14 giclee A Painting a Day Well, the big thing arrived. The 98oo printer. Egads it didn't look this big in the store! I am finishing up work to send to New York for next weekend and decided to send some of my prints from my Backyard Blooms Series. This is a favorite. I miss these iris...I had a huge group of them in my backyard at the old house. Should have brought some with me! Preparing for this show has been a huge drag for me with my brain only half functioning from the wreck. For example, I forgot to order the clear bags for the prints in the new sizes. I have old ones for the regular size prints. It will be $60 in shipping to get those babies here by Tuesday so I can ship them to the Gallery. We are actually on VACATION next week and suppose to be in NY and here I am still trying to get ready to go to NY. What is wrong with this picture? What is wrong is my frantic place of mind. Trying to do more than I should and not trusting that God has it
THE POND 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting A Day SOLD SOLD SOLD OFF BLOG! So much rain and water, but I do believe we will have a break for a few days. HOPEFULLY we can get the yard mowed. We are still walking the dogs five times a day and they do not understand why they cannot get out and run! This painting was inspired by all the water and all the rain and the colors of summer with the rain. It is painted with a wide brush and COLOR COLOR COLOR! This is not my normal subject but sometimes we have to try new things. I spent an hour with Conni Togel on the phone yesterday as we bemoaned the fact that we needed a vacation together and wanted to find a good workshop. She has to wait until the kids are back at school and we have to work around her show schedule. Yesterday I picked up my printer. I will soon have available beautiful Giclee prints...embellished and ready to hang of limited selections of my work. Stay tuned in the next two weeks on my website, www.ellepace.com Have
Morning Reflections 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Well, we only saw sprinkles yesterday...but today expecting MORE rain! I am finally back in the studio, moving slow but hopefully back to full time work again, or at least trying it. I am waiting for the insurance man for the car to come back by and look at the repairs. This painting was completed this past weekend...I think on Sunday. It makes me hungry to look at it, thinking of summer and the blue skies and then all the colors you see in fresh fruits! I know I am artist and my brain functions at a different level! Yesterday I traveled with my daughter and her husband to my mothers to continue unpacking all the stuff she packed up for the floors to be installed. She is doing a good job weeding out the unnecessary in life. It seems we are all guilty of collecting physically as well as mentally. Just as we must relearn to let go and let GOD in our lives concerning worries and situations, we must also learn to LE

RED WHITE AND BLUES 27 x 54 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD SOLD SOLD Somewhere in an email I read do something for the fourth. SO this was it. I did not do this purposefully. These three started out all white and then evolved to stronger colors. I didn't even realize they were red white and blue until I finished and then you really don't see that when you look at them in the studio... You see a color explosion and energy. But this will post tomorrow in the email Daily Painters sends out and will count as my contribution to the RED WHITE AND BLUES...Fourth of July! EMERGING 30 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas A Painting A Day SOLD SOLD Good morning! This one was finished up this weekend. You can click here to bid or buy this painting. RICH colors sweep across the surface in a reverent majesty...I was praying and meditating while pulling the colors, part in delight, part in frustration, part in awe...and all the time in anticipation of what would evolve. We stayed quiet yesterday but did drive into Dallas to have lunch with my parents. Dad and Terry had blackened Salmon with veggies and a large cup of gumbo. Mom and I stayed with talapia and veggies. It was some of the BEST fish I have had yet this year! Yes, we were at Mainstream, our favorite restaurant. A trip to Whole Foods can bring tears and laughter always. There was a woman there (close to my middle age) pushing one of those carts with a child in it...long story short, I kept hearing this strange noise...the woman was in the store and she had ACTIVE LOUD WHOOPING COUGH. After
CHIPPING SPARROW 5 x 7 inches Oil on panel A Painting a Day Sunday morning early! This is another one of my small bird paintings heading for NY this week. It is a chipping sparrow. Stephanie, the Gallery manager wanted a series of my birds. I really enjoy the ease and yet full intensity of painting these little guys! I was honored last night by high bidding on one of my eBay paintings. Credit given to the Holy Spirit for the inspiration and guidance....it was my triple canvas horse painting and it sold for $1225 to one of my horse collectors in New York. I didn't get to watch it yesterday because Terry and I were taking CPR training, first aid training, med training etc and didn't get in until late last night. Rain continues to pummel the area. It was raining lightly when we arrived home...and around two this morning huge winds and more rain arrived. We are down to walking the dogs in the back yard on led because it is so wet outside and the ground is very mushy. Paddy w
