Matthew 5:16 Yesterday Neal Donald Walsh spoke of "that is does not good to think in any way negatively about yourself. Not even a little good." Often when I look in the mirror in the morning, like this morning... at 5:00 am, I first notice my eyes and know how they are begging me to climb back into bed. Then I travel down to s
16 Roses Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 11 x 14 on Linen Panel SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! THANK YOU!! This painting is very similar to the one I painted in celebration of my mom's birthday last summer. I purchased some new linen panels from Ray Mar art and I wanted to try them out. Today's post and tomorrows will be on the panels. I absolutely LOVE them. The paint moves differently .... I think I am going to like it. This would make a delightful gift for someone, email me! Well, I have the movers scheduled...now I need to pack and in between keep painting. Moving a family and a houseful of belongings is one thing, but adding a full art studio, a huge printer and all my stock of canvas, paints etc...well that is a different story. Trying to keep harmony in your life during a move is a challenge. Trying to remember WHAT you have to update and change is a pain. My youngest son fell off a roof yesterday. He was working hanging Christmas lights and went down over 35 feet. He
ART BOOKS AND ROSES by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home MONDAY! I am up way early while Terry sleeps. The train woke me at four. Usually it does every morning. We did get an offer on our house last night, just as I am gather in bids to add on the studio. Lots of prayers are needed as we make this decision. This painting is a reach back to my old still life style. Not perfect, but interesting. Somethings you leave as they are and not overwork them. That happens in life too...we try too hard to make it perfect we ruin it or we confuse it...what we are working on, not necessarily our life. TOO much of a good thing. I know the bible takes often about moderation. I think that applies to everything, including worry. Shalom Laurie "But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." Psalm 73:28
FROM THE GARDEN 24 x 24 inches Oil no Gallery Wrap Canvas A Painting A Day SOLD Gorgeous brilliant roses are covering my rose bushes outside. Terry snapped a bundle off and put them in my favorite blue vase. (My dad had a bunch of blue vases in his history of sales eons ago with Phoenix Mutual...and I still have one!) THICK paint but this time I used a wide brush to paint. I was painting with my IPOD attached. The electricity was out again yesterday morning. STAY FLEXIBLE! Do not engage where stress is lurking to pull you in! Today is painting and packing pictures for Wyoming. Amanda, here they come! LOL Don't forget to visit www.earthworksartgallery.com to see my show in New York. (I know there are not a lot of new ones due to the car accident we were in, but I gathered my best.) ROSES FOR GLADYS 11 x 14 inches Oil on Panel A Painting a Day CLICK HERE TO BID SOLD DUH, I was suppose to post this on Mom's birthday yesterday and of course my brain was not functioning. I was late posting and grabbed up the five white stallions! BUT, I painted this a week ago to post on her birthday. The richness of colors cannot even begin to reach the beauty of my mother, but her favorite colors are all in this simple beauty. She is a simple beauty that God graced the world with and lucky me, I have her as my mother. Hopefully in my life I may reflect some of this grace to others that she has given so freely to me in my life. My New York show opens today. You can view 80 percent of the work online at the Gallery and you can buy from them directly as well or from me. Earth Works Art Gallery is in Upper State New York. Click here to visit the site. May His light shine in your life today and bring resolution and answers to things that trouble you. May new doors open as He reve
SINGLE ROSE 4 x 6 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Good morning! Sunshine and heat creeping in here...but understand it is miserable across the nation. This is a small rose that was fun and relaxing to paint to loosen up before doing a large painting. Rich colors and contrast playing the red against the green. Contact me if you are interested! Thought wise, much is bouncing in my head. As we were sitting at the eye doc yesterday I picked up a magazine and was browsing the pages. There was an article about a writer that had interviewed many older adults about special times they could remember in life. The adults that told of a wonderful happening but then interjected something horrible attached to it that disrupted the joy of the event and then left the story at a low point were most likely to be adults with depression and mood issues. The other group that stood out were the adults that told of a joyous occasion that might have emerged OUT of a negative thing...so their stories
Coming Up Roses 22 x 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD SOLD SOLD THANKS!!!! This painting is at the New York Gallery in Penn Yan. I have placed a few of these pieces on sale in my eBay store to clear them out before I go up for my show in mid July. This is a gorgeous painting with thick paint and delightful colors! Check it out. Raining again as we woke up this morning. We were suppose to have our neighbor come mow the acre...Terry definitely can't do it...and now sogginess sets in! LOL....I will be cleaning today and painting this afternoon later. No medical tests today. My MRI is tomorrow. Anyone out there had an OPEN MRI? What is it like? Terry was NOT fond of the closed MRI, decided he would skip that one next time, despite the HANK WILLIAMS they played to try and cover up the noise of the electronic magnets. I stumbled out of bed at 4:30 this morning as the storm hit to give ANNIE ( the dog) her half of pill to get through the storm. She gets the shakes rea
ROSES IN BLOOM ON BLUE 12 X 12 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day This painting was completed on Saturday. My right had is so sprained from the car wreck I am struggling to paint very large. It is done with a huge brush, thick paint and lots of color! There are quite a few layers of paint on the flowers! FATHER'S DAY. Rainy and full of love here. We pulled our aching bodies from bed and tolerated the hour trip into Dallas in torrential rains. I wanted to turn back and go climb back in bed, but my true dear hubby pushed onward despite his lower back and major headache. We Thoroughly enjoyed visiting Eastridge Christian Church and hearing the wonderful message based on the father of the prodigal son. It sank in near and dear to the heart you might say. We declined any reasonable thought of Sunday School and stopped to hug friends there and headed to my mom's to collapse and rest before taking them to lunch. Lunch was at Mainstream where we had a good group of both Dad&#
