My Dad died in his eighties. He never tired of my playing the piano, and if it was hymns, he was singing along.  I remember my Grandmother would come in and sit in our formal living room, where the piano lived... and she would knit or sew while I practiced each evening. Made me feel special.  That was about 11 years ago we lost Dad.  In 11 more years, I will be his age when he passed. Sobering thought.  Seems like daily something hits me in that manner to make me realize I want to live this last part of my life in a good place mentally.  Stress is a killer... and we are good about stressing ourselves out, and anxiety grows and blood pressure pumps up and depression sinks in. That addiction means when I walk into a store with clothes... I only see color... not the actual dress, or shirt, or coat. It really is detrimental to my budget. I am successfully working on this shopping addiction to color. When the closet has six black sweaters, four green ones, four white ones, two grey ones, one red one, one orange one, one rose colored one and two navy blue ones... uh oh....and you see it happening with tops and sweats too.   QUESTION: What do you think happens when I walk into an art store and the stimulation is OFF THE CHARTS....? This painting "Under Texas Stars" is one I totally forgot about having the deep blue backgrounds.  I painted this in 2014 and it sold immediately after I placed it on my website.  Texas is a wide open state with a few glitches called Dallas, Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston etc.  Those big cities are so bright they often outshine the stars where it is nothing but city lights.  The night sky in Texas is incredible. The stars seem brighter and larger than anywhere despite being further south!   When we lived at the lake, I have shared often the peace of the night sky and NO airplanes overhead.
