Ruth Hogan, The Keeper of Lost Things. Red has always been my dislike color along with yellow, yet everyone needs a splash of red in their lives occasionally.  Last summer Terry bought me a pair of Coach loafers in red...sort of a coral red.  They are my traditional SPLASH color when I need them, which is not often.   2 Thessalonians 2:16-17  May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, enc

Everywhere is full of herds! To breath comfortably, to feel free, to think better and to find the beauties of the unknown paths leave your herd! In whichever herd you are in, leave it!" Mehmet Murat ildan I was not a person in high school that sought to be elite or popular. I grew up in an elementary school with friends that remained friends as we grew into Junior High and High School.  I never felt the need to be in

They're like two trees whose branches have grown together. Even you you pull them out by the trunks, they're still going to be twisted and tangled and nearly impossible to separate at the roots."  Jennifer E Smith Lady L, our oldest granddaughter is visiting this morning. We were telling her about Princess Diana and Princess Kate.  I had read the Queen Elizabeth was passing the throne to William

It took me years to under that this too, was a gift." Mary Oliver Terry and I have been reading together the entire Bible this year.  At the same time I pulled in Streams in the Desert written almost 100 years ago.  Truly times have changed but life's hard times have not. The devotional from July 31st reminded me that darkness is followed by light. Through our trials we become stronger. When you doubt your course or a decision lies ahead, pray for all the doors to be shut but the one you are suppose to go through. He alw

All your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving them all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in. And so on, all day. Standing back from all your natural fussing and fretting; coming in out of the wind." C S Lewis, Mere Christianity This is the completed painting.  Should be leaving early next week. I thought it might le

To awaken from sleep, to rest from awakening, to tame the animal, to let the soul go wild, to shelter in darkness and blaze with light, to cease to speak and be perfectly understood." Veronica Roth, Insurgent This painting was a work of the heart which covered three weeks of my life in paint and progress and now another three as it is curing to ship out. It is a 'mother' feeling when I invest so much blood, sweat and tears... and then have to say goodbye to a piece of my spirit spilled across the canvas.  My spirit uncaged. When I feel like maybe I should not paint anymore, I became aware that I would be not using the great gift God has given me.  In a wa

Josh Billings Freedom in running... all of our dogs have been runners. They LOVE to run. Annie always came home after her jaunts. Some of them were in neighbors pastures and she came home covered in horse dung. Paddy, not so much. When he runs... he runs looking for prey. We are scrambling to catch him.  We are thankful he is aging and at least we THOUGHT we could catch him if he tries to dart out the front door. BUT we have found, we have aged too.  Galatians 5:22-23
