One cannot exist without the other.” ― Victoria Aveyard, Red Queen So with the theme of the show being the Calm after the Storm, it pulled me into you cannot have the calm if you don't have the storm.  It is that Yin Yang thing.  Love/hate; tears/laughter; sad/happy; day/night.  I think you get my point.  So in the painting I am thinking of contrasting things. Each horse had to have something that makes them apart and unique from the others. What is a painting without contrast?  Pretty dull.  Meet the Red horse just breaking from the storm.  Life/death.

He is represented by the dark blues reflecting the darkness of the sky, wind and rain surrounding him. His white mane whips in the wind but the strength of his body and legs propels him forward after the other horses
