Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The painting was in my mind a few weeks ago and looking through my painting archives I came across a single horse with a sun rising entitled Dawn's Early Light.  I thought it would be appropriate to do a contemporary horse painting for the 4th of July and name it By Dawn's Early Light. Today is Independence Day in the United States. This is a holiday we all look forward from the time we are little bitty until we are old and in our rocking chairs.  In the old days when I was young....we had sparklers, small firecrackers and simple things to light off with our families.  I loved the holiday at my grandmother's farm. It was always darker in the country and the fireworks seem brighter.    When I had children, two of the three were boys that pla

Terry has my  dad's flags ready to line the sidewalks. I am so proud to carry on his tradition in our neighborhood. We have always put out our big flag, but this will be our first year to use Dad's flags. Lady L will be over later to help her Bampa put out the flags for tomorrow. For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Choice is inevitable.  Weighing pros and cons to make choices is one avenue to making a decision and the second way is to make a decision with your heart.  I find myself bouncing between the choice of lists and using my heart.  I have to say most of the time my heart leads with the Spirit of God guiding me.  I believe my core values are instilled in me through all my life experiences and those affect my heart decisions as well. This horse painting is small but packed through with heart choices on both color and approach to the canvas. My addiction is color but in painting for me that is a positive. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the wa

Terry planted them every other week, so we should have those for months ahead.  I even have one lettuce that made the heat, and with it tomatoes, bell peppers, squash and zucchini.    Changes for the fall will be higher beds to grow in but other than that we are having fun eating from the garden. I have spoken with several other artists out there that are battling change with me. Our studios have moved and changed and we are struggling to get back into the 'grove' of feeling comfortable painting in the new area.  F

Memories in the making on these hot summer days and lazy evenings.  Terry has our backyard filled with roses, flowers and our garden. Our morning hours are spent from about 6-7 in the garden and hand watering the trees and plants in the beds around the house. They have pre

The reds are strong in the center of the painting contrasting the next layer of green sliding across in the lower middle area and the bottom is a combo of white, grey red and blue. It is a strong piece with very thick layers of paint.   Email Kim at Robert Kelly if you are interested in this painting. Here are some close up images below. Robert Kelly Home Gallery Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Okay, tomorrow I will post the final painting of ON THE LAMB.  This is a sneak preview of where I stopped to sleep after a ten hour day straight.  This is really a different combination of palette colors but I now it is changing right now as I just cannot stop without a balance of hot and cold with the green as strong as it is in the composition.  Did you ever think about reinventing yourself?  My Dad always said sometimes you have to fake it till you make it.  Establishing new habits is often hard at any age. But you have choices on who you are, what you stand for, and what life experiences make up your life and your journey. Don't get stuck in the past. Be brave and do something new. Make Changes.  You can live life on your terms and not base it

This is another expression of FREEDOM! While I write about diet all the time... I will veer away from that.   But did you know that birth control by pill was approved by the FDA and it was released to the public in 1960?  One of the 'out of the box' things from the sixties.  The population at that time was   179,979,000.  Today it is  over 314 million.  Don't think those pills worked. We have not quite doubled in population. Our  national debt was 286.3 billion in 1960.  Today at the writing of this blog it is $17,573,178,726,315.34. Well, we have really stepped up the national debt WAY our of reach.   Here is a site with the Debt Clock.  Do not think

Meanwhile... what would it be like to play hooky from your every day life?  Yesterday I shared one dream of a Canadian Trek... hummm what comes to mind this morning. What are you suppose to do in your sixties?  Our CPA convinced us early retirement was the way to go and that is what we did. We have had fun living at the lake, and now back near the grands...but
