Golden Paint Pony Abstract Horse Painting by Texas Equine Artist Laurie Pace, The Painted Ponies 2011

Golden Paint Pony Available through Mirada Fine Art  $3600 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas  © Laurie Justus Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact: Laurie      Book is coming....  Yesterday was spent painting and working on the next edition of the Painted Pony books. I have think I only missed last year when we moved, so this is either the fourth edition or the fifth edition.  I believe the fifth edition. This year I am doing a hardback book only with better quality paper and beautiful horses inspired by the Father on my canvas. I want to have the book available this summer at my shows. So the day was exhausting working at my computer till almost eleven last night. Church this morning, so this is a short morning blog.  Continue to live with joy today. I know the painting I posted is full of joy...and color... and contrast.  Bring it all into your life. I can't wait to get home from church and paint today! The wild swings of joy and frustration of being age two reminded me that it was a mirror of what we often see in adults.  Night before last I crawled into bed, the last night Lady L would be here this trip...worn but happy.  Terry was in the den with Larry watching the latest episode of Top Gear, a favorite in our household. Stacey had fallen asleep a few hours earlier with

BRILLIANCE IN LIFE Are there times in life that you feel like everything is in such vivid color that you blink your eyes in disbelief?  Terry thinks it is because we are so busy in our lives we do not stop to 'drink' in the beauty that truly explodes around us. Right now Spring is budding out in full force with trees adorned with bright green leaves; dogwood trees laden with white and pink dogwood flowers, Tulip trees thick with brilliant blooms... and the blue of the sky brings a stark contract to the vivid display before us. God's palette is gentle and soft on those gray rainy days; but the grays are de

There is constant motion with a busy current of energy as the water moves. In the pond or lake where the water falls...really deep beneath the surface, the water is undisturbed by the chaos above.  Also true if you find a path in the side of the hill that leads behind the curtain of the waterfall... there too under the noise of the falling water is a safe place of respite. Within you is always a calm place you can retreat to, a place filled with peace and quiet strength.  This restful place energizes and send out raw power to you to go and achieve those things important to you. You can draw on the peaceful center whenever you need to. God offers this peac

These gorgeous abstract horse paintings are thick with buttery Holbein Duo Oil Paints on Canvas. The collector that requested it liked a prior painting entitled Spring Showers and  wanted this to have the same flavor.  They also requested brilliant colors as well. Painted so far to Guns and Roses, Shania Twain and the Dave Matthews Band... today I shall do more and continue to layer. Right now there are about 20 layers of paint and about 10 more to go.        © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me: Laurie Sacrifice What does this word mean?  Wikipedia:" In Christian teaching, God became incarnate in Jesus Christ ( trinitarian view) or sacrificed his first-born son (divine yet distinct from God for non-trinitarians) to accomplish the reconciliation of God and humanity, which had separated it

The base was a rusty orange coating of acrylic with heavy overlays of oil paint. Yesterday we began working on clearing the banks of the pond some more. We are under a burn ban so we will continue to clear and then have to pay to have someone come clear the trash of trees and limbs from our lot.  We desperately need rain. My prayers this next week are focused on just that. Make a list of things to pray about this week and keep up with it... even if you do not make another ...keep up with this first one. Pray daily about the things on your list...and when you find answers for those prayers, date the list next to that ite

Terry and I were collapsed on the couch yesterday around four and Oprah was on when we switched on the tv to veg out to fresh baked Tilapia, summer squash, sweet potato fries, and a big salad. (Oh also a bowl of fresh cut up strawberries, apples and grapes)  We both worked hard all day... up till eight last night. I was washing sheets and preparing the guest room for the RETURN OF LADY L and her parents.  How cool is that? She is a right handed painter and loves painting with me in the studio. It was a rerun on Oprah from her trip down under to Australia and we enjoyed everything we saw on the journe

As a child when we traveled from Dallas to St Louis, I remember often seeing hitch hikers with their thumb in the air and that "Going my way?" expression.  Of course my dad never stopped. We didn't have room in the car with three kids even if it had been in his heart. Pondering thoughts bring visions of God waving His hands in front of me trying to get me to STOP... and then asking 'Going my way?'.   I am always too distracted to pay attention and that is where things begin to break down. I am probabl

What do you think in your heart is missing from your life?   Often it is for things we think we need and God has better things in mind for us. We limit so many things by our own thought process and often do not truly believe that there are no limitations to what joys He has for us. I get to see my Dad today and I am bursting with excitement.  With Alzheimers he does not know who I am, but those same brown eyes embrace me with his warm smile and for that split second I can believe 100 percent this is my DAD. Whenever some one asks me who I would love to have dinner with in an interview... it is with my dad before the disease hit him.  I am so grateful my Mom is healthy and still the wonderful person she has been my whole life. She brings joy to every day. Dreams are made of ...what?  Sounds l

PlayTime SOLD 8 x 10 Inches  Oil on Canvas   © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011    contact me: Laurie  A MOMENT OF JOY As an adult I find life gets pretty darn intense.  Of course most of that intensity is self-induced.  What does it take for an adult to live like a child? To live knowing the Father will take care of everything? Trusting in the plans of the Father? After 5 days with Lady L at the house,  Terry and I both have new sight on learning AGAIN to let go of so much and try to learn to "play" again. We need to find JOY in every moment.  Lady L sure did. She set a great example...well most of the time, except when she did not get her way and she ducked her chin and pushed out her bottom lip.  I don't believe we are as cute as adults when we pout.  God probably is not laughing like Terry and I did trying hard not to cry and let her see us laughing. Take a look at your life today.  Are you having fun? Is there joy?  Time to climb out of the bo
