" The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. " John 10:10 The Stolen Artwork The year was 2010 It was really called "The Get Away"   and to have it really be 'stolen away' was astonishing. My work was delivered to a gallery in Santa Fe, where several other artists I knew were represented. It was a little bit quirky but seem fine as one of the artists was an Artist of Texas and I had known her quite a few years.  The gallery had on and off problems but I did get paid for sales... then the owner had to travel and left someone there at the gallery... then due to health reasons it was closing and they sent my unsold work back, but no "The Get Away" .  I truly loved this painting. It is

A quick catch up late tonight. It is after 9pm.  Freezing rain started on Sunday last weekend.  It is 28 but feels like 18 outside and it is still coming down.  Some areas the ice is over 12 inches, but on our street and patio it is about 5 inches.  We were suppose to be clear tomorrow, but now they said it will be Friday.... Saturday for sure!  Our grid has held out so far but we have been in the mid twenties or lower since Sunday. FULL CIRCLE  Do you come a full circle during your life time or even every day?  How does God fit into your life?  How does He fit into your everyday thoughts and decisions?  Every morning we have a new day before us. I have learned recently it is so much easier if I face it without too many preconceived goals or allowing fear or anxiety to creep into my mi

"Yes, I fell off the posting wagon... but for good reason. There was a computer glitch and I LOST three of the blogs I had written. Then the weekend hit and I gave up till today, Monday!  The painting above was done about two years ago and within an hour of posting it on my website, it sold and headed to Austin, Texas.   I will be painting over the next weeks.  Mirada Fine Art, my Denver gallery since 2010,  has a new show coming up. Details will follow as they release the information to the public. Time to shake things up for sure!. Happy New Year...Behold the journey ahead!" BE READY The season of ADVENT is upon us... and for our family, this is a special connection working in our lives preparing our hearts for the celebration of the Christ's birthday.  Preparation is good in all parts of our life.  From planing ahead, which often brings a giggle from our Father, to the full realization preparation of the heart, is dropping all your thoughts and plans into HIS hands.   We are truly a hands on civilization, believing we have control over our lives at all times. When you mix in the thought of God into our planning equation, you never kno

I have learned to wait and if it seems good today and tomorrow and maybe in a few weeks... then act on it!  I am exploring both in painting and in writing thinking more abstractly I would say.   Blast of Blue was a good lead for me to test skills and it will take a few more like this.  I need to be even more basic.  Will try another direction tomorrow with a cradled Panel.  Thinking these will all be $199 right now as I experiment and take this journey. You will be right here next to me as we go. I know what the knife does... I want to try more things as I go. Abduction is a good word. Don't think of it's first meaning, look at its second meaning. Maybe some of the third meaning too.   abduction:  noun 1. The act of a

Letting Go Our summer finally ended. Yesterday morning the winds switched from the south (we have been at 80 degrees for a week, down from 90-95 the week before) and with the north wind zooming in, Fall officially arrived with a cold freeze last night. It was 31 this morning but felt like mid twenties.  BLAST OF BLUE! I am working on a large canvas and this small one today . I have written often about 'getting in the way of the painting' and over controlling the paint itself. It works rarely when you do this. When you tightly paint or over compensate for what the subject is, you tend to lose the freshness of painting and the joy of the journey.  I am feeling that way with the larger painting... so I picked up a cradled Panel board a
