Central Park Statue 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Have you ever lived a day with out electricity when it is 104 degrees outside? We survived and it was after eleven last night when we finally got power on. NOT FUN. I only worked on one piece yesterday and could not do anything else with the computer of course. This painting is restful and simple in composition. I finished this one before our trip. Terry walked in yesterday and had not seen it before we left. He stood in front of it for about five minutes and turned to me and said, "THAT'S COOL". High praise from my hubby.yes We did take 12 paintings in to Fed ex out and will do another today and hopefully head into Whole Foods to shop. There is no food. It is God's work that we did not shop yesterday or the day before because wtih 12 hours of no power I am pretty positive everything is toast in the refrigerator. Email me if you think otherwise! We had a marvelous morning yesterday with a co
A Group of Three 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Almost two weeks ago, before we left on our trip, I hung this painting in the studio knowing I was not through with it and not sure what energy had transpired. When we returned this week and I saw it, I knew it was complete. So often in life relationships come and go...some people that come into your life are solid and stay through everything, while others come and go and some never return. In this painting the two front horses represent the calm stayed relationship. In the background hovers a third horse, rather unsure of the balance of energy, and not representing the three in one energy. The composition lends it self upside down to the power of the triangle but the actual horses do not in their relationship. This is simply the pondering of the artist. Often when I paint I do not know the why of what evolves. So I present to you "A GROUP OF THREE". Through this I celebrate divine nature! Last night wh

Wide brush and different color palette for me too. Saturday. PAINT PAINT PAINT and pack pack pack. Never do seem to catch up. The first cut of the book for Wyoming arrived yesterday. Visit LULU to see the book. Click Here . It is only $18.99 and has both photography from Amanda Smith and artwork from me. Be energized by the power of the Lord...let His beauty shine through you to others. Shalom, Laurie “He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.”—Psalm 147:3

Horsey Gossip 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Good morning! This is a delightful COLORFUL group of hoses I had fun painting the past two days. I thought I would take it to Wyoming, but ya know the paint is sooo thick it will not be dry to make the trip! So many personalities in this painting...hard to take them all in. Don't forget to stop in at EARTH WORKS ART GALLERY . Yesterday my high school girlfriend Barbie drove out from Dallas. She is in visiting from Salt Lake City. We took art together in junior high school...that is where we met! I think it was first period art with Mr Craig at Lake Highlands Jr High School. Wonder if he is still alive? I learned so much from him. We even did architecture and designed our own homes in 8th grade! I even used that lesson when I taught 8th grade art. ANY way, after a yummy dinner at the FABULOUS Ponder Steak house, we came back to the house and she began a painting. She claims she has not painted in her adult life

Thursday and I am running out of days. I spoke to Amanda late yesterday afternoon and we decided at the last minute to put together a book for the show in Wyoming. I GET TO PUT TOGETHER the book in between finishing up the pieces she wants me to send. Today I will work on some flowers to go up with the horses and cowboys and do some prints as well. Terry will have to shake a leg and get the mega printer fired up. I need to call ASEL ART early and have Jim send some stretcher bars to us so we can get some gliclee ready as well. This painting I finished up yesterday while the water filter man was chasing a leak under my sink where the filter system is located. He did not finish up until after six thirty last night. It was terribly interrupting to my work and finishing up things. I am painting in acryli

Actually I just checked on her site and you can listen to some of her songs...GO do it! ANNA is about her grandmother that has Alzeheimers. She talks on the CD about her grandmother and says she wrote the song about her grandmother, but her name was not ANNA, it was Gadda, but Gadda didn't rhyme so she had to use Anna,
ROSES FOR GLADYS 11 x 14 inches Oil on Panel A Painting a Day CLICK HERE TO BID SOLD DUH, I was suppose to post this on Mom's birthday yesterday and of course my brain was not functioning. I was late posting and grabbed up the five white stallions! BUT, I painted this a week ago to post on her birthday. The richness of colors cannot even begin to reach the beauty of my mother, but her favorite colors are all in this simple beauty. She is a simple beauty that God graced the world with and lucky me, I have her as my mother. Hopefully in my life I may reflect some of this grace to others that she has given so freely to me in my life. My New York show opens today. You can view 80 percent of the work online at the Gallery and you can buy from them directly as well or from me. Earth Works Art Gallery is in Upper State New York. Click here to visit the site. May His light shine in your life today and bring resolution and answers to things that trouble you. May new doors open as He reve
Five White Stallions 27 X 54 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid. SOLD Friday, today is my mothers birthday! We were in Dallas yesterday and took her out to lunch along with Terry for his birthday. We have been in and out so much we have clocked close to 650 miles this week. WHEW! This is a painting I finished last week, I may have already posted it, if I did I am sorry. I am taking a three day break from painting...much deserved. My show opens in New York tomorrow. Click here for the Gallery website . Click on Events and then follow the prompts. Terry and I were suppose to be there, but obviously did not make it following the wreck. Too painful to think of flying in a cramped American Eagle plane. Act in Faith and Trust in Father/God. Stay in movement with prayer and your needs will be answered, maybe not the way it seems you think they should be met, but the Lord will follow his plan. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! MORNING ROLL 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Whew, when I started this painting I began with the golds and worked counter clockwise into green, midnight blues, purples and then to the reds.... I stepped back and thought " ICK" but began working on the horse still not sure of what colors would make up this rolling baby in the morning light! The colors began building as I went and slowly as I added more and more it worked into the vivid background, all of it alive with action and color. It takes a daring person to love this one, but hopefully it will touch a heart! Yesterday we went back into Dallas to order glasses. I couldn't decide, so I bought two pair. My sunglasses I used my old Maui Jim frames that I LOVE ~ but the new ones...geez one is a frame maker called facetoface I think and they have plaid sides going over the ears and square rectangles in the front. The second pair is tortoise like pattern in PURPLE!!!!! The eyes are shapes like the act
Morning Reflections 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Well, we only saw sprinkles yesterday...but today expecting MORE rain! I am finally back in the studio, moving slow but hopefully back to full time work again, or at least trying it. I am waiting for the insurance man for the car to come back by and look at the repairs. This painting was completed this past weekend...I think on Sunday. It makes me hungry to look at it, thinking of summer and the blue skies and then all the colors you see in fresh fruits! I know I am artist and my brain functions at a different level! Yesterday I traveled with my daughter and her husband to my mothers to continue unpacking all the stuff she packed up for the floors to be installed. She is doing a good job weeding out the unnecessary in life. It seems we are all guilty of collecting physically as well as mentally. Just as we must relearn to let go and let GOD in our lives concerning worries and situations, we must also learn to LE
RED WHITE AND BLUES 27 x 54 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD SOLD SOLD Somewhere in an email I read do something for the fourth. SO this was it. I did not do this purposefully. These three started out all white and then evolved to stronger colors. I didn't even realize they were red white and blue until I finished and then you really don't see that when you look at them in the studio... You see a color explosion and energy. But this will post tomorrow in the email Daily Painters sends out and will count as my contribution to the RED WHITE AND BLUES...Fourth of July! This starts on eBay tomorrow night, so if you are interested in purchasing it BEFORE it hits ebay, please contact me. Laurie This again is three 18 x 27 inch canvas with three horses exploding forward. THICK paint and a palette knife are responsible along with the spirit with in guiding! CELEBRATION LIFE 30 X 30 inches Oil on Canvas NOT LISTED ON EBAY for another week. Contact me if you are interested. This is painted in the same style as the horse I did last week, but the colors on this painting are deeper and more intense in personality. The strength is not only in the brush strokes, but the color as well. I did not intentionally start out with the head the same direction, I just began painting! Need to think opposite. Today is house cleaning, dog washing and all those fun things! Especially when it is still hard to move my neck. Terry can't do anything yet. He hopes to go back to work next week. We will see. Be happy, whole, peaceful and secure in the Love of the Lord. Laurie “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”—Proverbs 16:24
MOOING into Summer 18 x 18 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting A Day SOLD CONTACT ME for a similar commission piece! Tuesday brings my MOOOving into Summer to the blog. She was painted on Sunday! I rarely do cows, they are better done by Diane Whitehead . But with my summer series of COLORS OF SUMMER, I had to have one! Back to our GP today and hopefully Terry can return to work soon. PT starts in about a week. My hand is doing a bit better as I can type and hope to return to painting full time this next week. Between my neck and hand, it has slowed me down considerably, enough that I will not be shipping as many completed pieces to NY. With faith filled enthusiasm accept God's plan and good for your life. HILLS ONE 2007 22 X 28 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Monday morning! I have posted Hills One 2007. Last summer I did a series of these and they were popular....just for the fun of it, I painted one this year. In fact last year they were so popular that I ended up doing a huge commission piece 3 by 4 feet! They are a delight to paint and fun to view! Today are trips to the Doctor and then home...Would really like my right had to straighten out. Typing HURTS!! This week I have to finish up the New York pieces for shipping next week, so I will be busy doing edges and varnishing! Rest in God's Peace Laurie “To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”—Romans 8:6
REFLECTIONS 15 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day COLOR COLOR COLOR abounds in this impressionistic landscape that shouts to me JOY and GLORY in God's creation! A wide brush loaded and wiped with thick oils creates the texture and impressions in this one. Today we get to sit and watch our youngest son load the uhaul with boxes we packed before we were in the car accident. They are going into storage to par down the clutter in the house as we put it on the market with MUCH PRAYER today. I am NOT looking forward to the trip across Dallas pulling the uhaul. Yesterday we attended classes with Covenant Kids. The education they give should be passed out to ALL new parents. Terry and I have learned so much in these sessions. Yesterday we learned a restrain hold that really doesn't hurt. It will take practice to get it down, but we figured it would work on any person if you so needed it. Off to fix breakfast! Have a wonderful day and celebrate life today. Harmonize with
THE POWER OF THREE Three Canvas 18 x 27 inches totaling 54 x 27 inches hanging Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD SOLD SOLD Contact me for a commission piece. Laurie Pace Saturday morning and I am preparing to paint for a short time. This painting was worked on all through this last week. It began with a simple vision and I normally do not paint across separate canvas, but this time I did. The paints are extra thick and the colors are a contrast. From the wild I present "the power of three". Not much on the schedule this weekend as we stay mostly at home staying out of traffic and where we can sit and move as we need to. Thanks for all your prayers! They have helped to sustain us, along with the grace of the Lord! Grace, Laurie “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”—Matthew 28:20
Summer Doors 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Friday Friday...but I painted this one on Wednesday! This is one of my seascape cityscapes done with the colors of summer and bright doors on each of the buildings on the water. THICK deep paint mixed with impasto creates a rugged surface across the canvas. Today I will be attempting to work in the studio. Terry will be resting most of the day. Have a peace filled mind and a faith filled heart and simple trust in the Lord for divine order. Grace, Laurie “He has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure.”—2 Samuel 23:5
IN HER GARDEN 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day The day marks on the calendar as Tuesday. Yesterday I was busy with the New York Gallery sorting what was coming and going. This is a beautiful painting that is there at the gallery that is now listed in my store on eBay. Click here. It is offered at a tremendous price for the quality of the painting! Enjoy! Today Terry has his MRI series...two on his back. I am moaning this morning, have tingles and numbness in my upper left shoulder and my neck is worse on that side too, so something is still not right. My MRI is on Thursday. Despite it all Terry and I are filled with Joy that we are alive! Grace, Laurie “And all the people went up following him, playing on pipes and rejoicing with great joy.”—1 Kings 1:40
Father's Day in Blue 24 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Thick buttery Oils applied with a palette knife....gorgeous colors play in contrast as the true strength of a stallion emerges across the canvas. The paint is very thick....applied in 1/4 inch thickness in many places! Monday today. We have to manage loading the dogs to get them to the vet to get their stitches out....other than that it will be a quiet day here! Typing is painful so my blog will be short. I have to type with my left hand and that is slower...LOL Enjoy your day and give thanks for everything that surrounds you. Grace, Laurie “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”—Matthew 19:14
